I haven't finished the book yet, but I'm surprised by how much I'm enjoying it. I'm still hoping the story will pick up on some of the unfinished business of The Dark Legacy of Shannara books, but either way, I'm already eagerly awaiting the next book!

I've enjoyed the series very much, but the decline in story was noticeable in the previous book (Paris' story), and with this book, it is severely bland and disappointing. I don't want to risk ruining details for other readers, so I will just say that some details are irrelevant, Joesphina's character doesn't make sense and isn't engaging, and the sex scenes lack enough detail to be effective.
I'm surprised to see such positive reviews, but I'm happy that others were able to enjoy it.

I have trouble falling asleep, and this audiobook definitely worked, but for the first few months that's all it did - help me sleep. Then I had a period where I would be dreaming, know it was a dream, get freaked out and want to wake up. Pretty interesting. It felt like I was living an additional life. Nothing has happened since though, I think my mind has become too accustomed to this book.
