Didn't like the end
Revisado: 12-27-24
I liked the story, even though there were several parts that were predictable; however, I didn't like the last part. I don't want to give spoilers but didn't like Sophia's requests and attitude, and that ruined the whole book for me.
Rosalyn Landor was obviously amazing!

Historia
Beckett Langfield is grumpy, rich and hates kids. I’m an overworked, overstressed, and overweight single mom. The only reason we’re getting married is because he needs to fix a PR disaster and I am available. As in sitting next to him, in a bar, when he has this brilliant idea. Considering I just got divorced, I’m not looking to do that again. But Beckett makes me an offer that I literally can’t refuse, so I don’t.

Sweet story
Revisado: 11-16-24
i liked the overall story and loved the directness of the male character and his personality. I identify with the female character with all the insecurities, but it got to a point where it was tiring hearing her being negative and doubtful of him and the relationship (it made me meditate on myself -- I hope I'm not as annoying as that).
Also, "Medusa" was also annoying... But. at the end I did enjoy the story, it made me cry. smile and laugh so that's good for me. I do plan to her the other's in the series.
Regarding the audio, I liked it but at the beginning of the book the female narrator was reading all the female characters with the same voice and it was very confusing and difficult to discern who was talking. I don't know if it got better or if I got used to it

It was worth it
Revisado: 10-14-23
I didn't know what to expect, didn't have high expectations for this book (I got it on discount or for free, I don't remember).
At the beginning I felt it was a little slow, and thought it was going to be kind of immature/ silly, but that started to change and eventually I found the book quite good, and at the end, really good. Not only does it have comedy, romance and a mistery, but it also has a lot of profound conversations, advices and points of views about grief, dying and how different people deal with it. I found it was really worth it, and definitely learned a lot from it.
I really like the narrators, I think they did a great job.

Historia
Allie Sutton just got a new job. Not one she wants, and definitely not one she's prepared for. She hadn't seen her dad in years, so the last thing she expects upon his sudden death is to inherit the thing he loved more than anything (or anyone)...the professional football team he owned for the last 20 years. Luke Pierson does not want a new boss. What he wants is to be a good father to his daughter, the best quarterback possible for his teammates. What he doesn't need is a blonde bombshell ruining the team's chances at another championship.

I got this book because it was included in the membership, without much expectation and was pleasantly surprised. It was really well written and the story was beautiful. I think the narration also helped a lot but I will definitely be listening to other books by this author.

Pleasantly surprised
Revisado: 09-15-23
I am so happy I decided on buying the first book of this trilogy simply because the title made me think of another series I loved named White trash zombie.
I had the first book in my library for weeks or months before deciding on listening to it and it was AMAZING! I loved the story, the dialogues, the characters, everything. I love the empathy and sympathy and the different points of views, I love the forgiveness and understanding brought upon by the author through the characters. After finishing the first one I had to listen to the second one and immediately the third because I wanted to know. This trilogy made me feel so many emotions, and it also made me look at my life and the regrets I would have, it makes you think about your relationship with your love ones, about you judging someone based on just part of their actions without knowing the whole picture.
I really recommend this trilogy, it's not just fantasy, or just romance, it's everything, it's amazing.
Also, I have to say the narrator was superb at his job! I think a big part of the success of the books are due to him.

Good but cliffhanger
Revisado: 08-18-23
I liked the story a lot but I wished I knew there was a cliffhanger because I would have waited until I had a credit to be able to buy the continuation in case I liked it.
The only thing I didn't like was that some times you couldn't differentiate between the characters, specially when the male narrator made the female voices, other than that I think the story is a really good one. I liked that fact that you got 3 points of views, including the "bad one"

my review for 50% of the story
Revisado: 07-07-23
So my 3 star review is for this book, which is apparently 50% of the story (I didn't know that). it ended with a cliffhanger with a lot of things undone. I agree there is a need for the story to be long because there is still so much to unravel about Gareth's past and Sloane's present and their love story, etc., but I don't know why not make it one whole book instead of this...
On the other hand I have to say the 3 star review is NOT because of the cliffhanger, but because I have struggled with finishing this book... I think it's because I've been wanting to know Gareth's story for so long that adding to that Sloane's load has been too much... she's too much of a pushover and I understand that she doesn't have as much money as her ex's family but she has her own business and wealthy clients and so it looks "false" that a boss lady, so good at her business, dominant with Gareth and everyone else is just letting her ex do whatever he wants. The law protects the mother, specially if she has a job and stability and has been present and raising her daughter well... it doesn't make sense and made me frustrated. I'm just waiting for Gareth to "intervene" with his money and power because apparently that's what she "needs"...
I read other reviews stating that this has been the least favorite of the books and I have to agree, but I don't know if I agree with them saying that the female narrator sounds robotic... I think she does a perfect interpretation of Sloane's personality, although maybe she does narrate everything like that, including Sofia's voice and her aroused voice and that's what it's not helping... I don't know... I think I wish the story would have been centered entirely on Gareth with a pinch of Sloane's story.

Historia
Billie is looking forward to a quiet, man-free Christmas. It’s just a shame her family doesn't feel the same way. With a house full of unexpected (and unwanted) guests, Billie needs to find the perfect escape to get away from the chaos. So when her dating app recommends a week of singles nights in her area, Billie decides that braving these events has to be better than making conversation with her dad’s new wife, dealing with her mum's mid-life crisis or witnessing her sister flirting with her insufferably arrogant next-door neighbour.

missing
Revisado: 06-21-23
I really love her books and I liked this book but I felt that the book missing part of the story, like the end was abrupt and the relationship and conversations I expected where cut or fast forward. I would have liked that the book would have continued a bit more.
One of the things I like about this author's books is that the drama is not extreme to the point you feel angry ( just a little bit) and anxious, and instead of enjoying it you end up wanting to avoid it, I don't know if I make myself clear...
Anyway I would have liked more time between the main characters but I still recommend it and as always I love the narrator.
