Historia
Too many workplaces are driven by cynicism, paranoia, and self-interest. But the best ones foster trust and cooperation because their leaders build what Sinek calls a "Circle of Safety" that separates the security inside the team from the challenges outside. Sinek illustrates his ideas with fascinating true stories that range from the military to big business, from government to investment banking.

Great ending, but a lot too much talk about chemical driven desires for me personally. The last 15 minutes was awesome and lufw coaching.

Historia
Shalom is what God declared. Shalom is what the Kingdom of God looks like. Shalom is when all people have enough. It's when churches, schools, and public policies protect human dignity. Shalom is when the image of God is recognized in every single human. Shalom is our calling as followers of Jesus' gospel. What can we do to bring shalom to our nations, our communities, and our souls? Through a careful exploration of biblical text, particularly the first three chapters of Genesis, Lisa Sharon Harper shows us what "very good" can look like today, even after the Fall.

Historia
Beyond memoir, this guidebook offers practical advice on everything from "How to Be the Black Friend" to "How to Be the (Next) Black President" to "How to Celebrate Black History Month". This is a humorous, intelligent, and audacious guide that challenges and satirizes the so-called experts, purists, and racists who purport to speak for all Black people. With honest storytelling and biting wit, Baratunde plots a path not just to blackness, but one open to anyone interested in simply "how to be".

Uneccessary foul language near the end of the boo.
Revisado: 04-30-19
Though mildly entertaining and informative I cannot recommend the work with a clear conscience because of the unnecessary foul language. otherwise it was just slightly above average in content.

Eye opening listen
Revisado: 02-05-19
I must admit that I have learned far more than I thought I might before starting this book. Why only 4 stars and not 5? The became difficult to follow at times repeating some names and periods of time. Honestly not sure what could be done to make it any easier to follow, nevertheless it made it more difficult for me. This is a great source for learning about the history of the Christian church, the good, the really bad and downright FOOLISH and ungodly. I would certainly recommend for anyone who thirst for knowledge. To God be the glory and thanks be to Christ.

In this must-listen book for anyone striving to succeed, pioneering psychologist Angela Duckworth shows parents, educators, students, and businesspeople - both seasoned and new - that the secret to outstanding achievement is not talent but a focused persistence called "grit". Why do some people succeed and others fail? Sharing new insights from her landmark research on grit, MacArthur "genius" Angela Duckworth explains why talent is hardly a guarantor of success.

Gathering Some Good Information, but a bit long
Revisado: 08-24-18
It took me longer than normal to finish this work and I think in part because of repeative nature of the material prompting me to take a break. Worth a listen, great examples, but nothing new or original. Summary of this work: "stick to it", "don't quick", "see it through", and the Larry the Cable Guy version, "Git-R-Done!' That's pretty much it with a few studies cited.

Forgive and forget. It should be easy to do—so why don’t we do it? The father who wasn’t always there for us. The mother who punished us. The spouse who betrayed us. The children who will leave us behind. Whoever and whatever the source of hurt, there is always a path to forgiveness. But too often, instead of forgiving, too many of us live with resentments and grudges that keep us stuck, robbing us of joy, peace, and purpose.

Okay, but I enjoyed it more the first time through
Revisado: 04-06-18
The first time I listened to this audio I wanted to purchase it for of my siblings and close friends. Nevertheless, this time through it was far less appealing. Not sure why, but I'm sure of that statement. It's still worth listening to just no longer a must listen to me. Thanks and B Blessed.

Historia
Born to a poor couple who were tenant farmers on a plantation in Mississippi, Anne Moody lived through some of the most dangerous days of the pre-civil rights era in the South. The week before she began high school came the news of Emmet Till's lynching. Before then, she had "known the fear of hunger, hell, and the Devil. But now there was…the fear of being killed just because I was black." In that moment was born the passion for freedom and justice that would change her life.

A must read for those who appreciate raw truth
Revisado: 03-23-18
Warning: the language is raw and authentic as the story. I am a black man who was raised in Southwest Mississippi and heard similar stories coming up. I was born after the events in this store, but I have been to many of the places mentioned. There were moments in this story when I was right there and others when my eyes filled with tears. She is a gifted writer with the ability to tell a single story from multiple viewpoints. I am shame to say that I never heard of Anne Moody before reading this book, but I want soon forget her nor this beautifully heartfelt shared story. This book really made me wonder how many story went to the grave untold. Most of folk choose not to share the horrors they suffered. To all those like Anne Moody who found the courage and time to share by spoken or written word, I say thank you. For those who suffered so I would have a better life come of age in Mississippi, I say thank you. All should ready this book, black, white, other, southern or from another country. Today is in Mississippi is far, far, from perfect, but thank God it's much better now than then. If you from somewhere other than the Southern United States of America, you should come visit us, especially Mississippi. God bless.

Awesome, awesome, testimony captured in book form
Revisado: 09-20-16
I purchased this book after my (soon to be wife) sent me a link for an advance purchase from Life Way and I ordered the printed copy shortly there after. Weeks passed and the book remained on my bedroom floor where I had placed after it arrived. I love reading, but I struggle with comprehension when trying to read fast and at my normal pace it would take weeks to finish. Being short on time to read, but having a genuine desire to hear Lecrae's story, I purchased the audio version at full price before a run. In less than day I completed the book for the first time. God has an interesting sense of humor, although I struggle with reading text, I can listen to audio at 2X (twice the normal speed), thus allowing me to consume audio books in about half the projected time. This book has touched me in ways that leave me searching for words to explain. His words speak, transparency, hurt, healing, love, struggle, longing, loneliness, and desire to accepted for who he is. I have long been a fan of the music, but after hearing this brother's story I can say I love the man behind the music and pledge here and now to pray for him. I think the book touched and moved me in part because of the parallels in our lives. This is one of those books I can easily recommend to vastly diverse group of people. There are many who have overcome that don't have the platform to tell their story, but I thank God that He allowed Lecrae to share his and that he remains unashamed. Romans 1:16
