Much better than the movie!
Revisado: 10-07-24
This book was much more mature compared to the movie made about it, much more intense and violent, people dying left and right, honestly I love it, lost world is next!

Historia
Meet Harry, aspiring tech entrepreneur. He’s a would-be Steve Jobs trapped in a cubicle gig at an angel investor firm, so close and yet so far from his dreams. His marriage is foundering, his career is stalled out, and all he wants is to create an app like Uber, or Tinder, something to make real change in the world, and change his own life forever. Now meet Peter, a deeply troubled computer genius who lives in a basement apartment, chugging red wine, nursing old grudges and writing code. When Harry meets Peter, it’s both of their lives that will change, when they invent an app for murder.

Historia
In December 1975, the Lutz family moved into their new home on suburban Long Island. George and Kathleen Lutz knew that, one year earlier, Ronald DeFeo had murdered his parents, brothers, and sisters in the house, but the property - complete with boathouse and swimming pool - and the price were too good to pass up. This is the shocking true story of an American dream that turned into a nightmare beyond imagining for the Lutz family, who were forced to flee their new home in terror.

Nice Thriller!
Revisado: 09-12-22
I remember watching the movie a long time ago and I had no idea it was based upon a true story. Hearing what happened in the book is truly terrifying and I hope I can find some other true stories or some well written fiction as good as this was.

Historia
When Dr. Louis Creed takes a new job and moves his family to the idyllic, rural town of Ludlow, Maine, this new beginning seems too good to be true. Yet despite Ludlow's tranquility, there's an undercurrent of danger that lingers...like the graveyard in the woods near the Creeds' home, where generations of children have buried their beloved pets.

What a great book! (spoilers ahead)
Revisado: 09-08-22
Man what a great book recorded by Dexter himself. I loved the movie and the book is so much better! I also love the cosmic/supernatural horror that comes with Stephen Kings books and I hope I find some more either from him or similar to this. My favorite parts have to be the ghosts and the moments when the characters interact and remember the Wendigo, so creepy and so awesome at the same time!

Fantastic ending to the trilogy! (spoilers ahead)
Revisado: 08-24-22
Wow, what a great ending to these three books, I'm going to have to go back and watch the show again too just to see the strain visually. All the books were fantastically descriptive with scenes, the gore was gritty and well described. I'd say my only gripe was that my boy Eph was treated like garbage the whole time for having issues and making some dumb choices and he still saved everybody! Zach was also a much better character here than he was in the show, probably because it gave us perspective from the master and how he was manipulating him whereas the show just showed a dumb emotional teen being an a**hole. Finally, the ending in the book had such a better fight scene than the show and by god was it great, lost some characters and it was sad but man it was good...cheers!

A great sequel!
Revisado: 08-22-22
I have to say first and foremost I miss the narration of Ron Perlman (Fallout narrator and first Hellboy) but it was a fantastic book, both so far fairly different than the show I started with. I also appreciate unlike the show being dumb sometimes Zach was not an emotional idiot like he was in the show, maybe that'll change with the final book but we'll see! I'm sad and excited, ready for the the night eternal.

Wow, I had no idea The Strain show was based off a book and as soon as I knew that, I knew I had to check it out. The book was amazing, with great description and nasty details that just aren't in the show...it's wonderful! Heading to book two now!

This could be the most important mission of Nameless’s life. Because it’s putting him on a collision course with his own past and the nation’s future. The time has come for Nameless to face its designer: the nihilist mastermind behind the One Solution. It’s also time for Nameless to discover who he is and was, and what brought him to this fateful endgame. But will the truth be a breaking point? Or a turning point?

Revisado: 06-17-22
Well, the ending is a bit wacky but hey, it's not terrible. If anything, it was slightly rushed to the end and definitely could've used another hour to ease into the end. But it is complete and I enjoyed it!

Historia
A terrorist attack in the news leaves Nameless reeling from a disturbing vision. But it’s not a glimpse of the future. It’s a recovered memory that’s opening a window into his mysterious past. Uncharacteristically forthcoming—and unexpectedly personal—Nameless’s handlers have no choice but to emerge from the shadows. The indoctrinating factions of his visions are growing in number. What’s more, their chilling symbol of totalitarian control is now linked to the highest powers in the country.
