Historia
Michelle loves everything about her home under the sea. She and her mermaid friends can play for hours, swimming among the fish and the coral. But her mother is the queen and Michelle is about to be crowned a princess - a fact that she is not entirely happy about, because it means she'll be destined to stay inside the Coral Palace. She wants adventure and she's heard rumors about another world - another kind of creature - living above the sea. Creature called humans.

Horrible!
Revisado: 11-28-23
So, the mermaid girl is the daughter of the queen. She is going to become the princess, but when she does, she will not be able to step outside again. She wants to be free, so, without giving it a single thought!!!, decides to run away. Her friends end up coming with her, and then they get into a fight with several creatures, including a gaint octopus, but they don't turn back!
I couldn't finish the book. It was a horrible listen, I absolutely hated it, I do not recommend.
Also, the narrator had a very bad accent, and the mermaids were supposed to sound like young girls, but instead they sounded like old ladies.
The book had some very bad morals that I do not believe in.
All in all, the book is a no, no for me.

In An Earthling's Guide to Outer Space, we finally have the answers to all those questions and more. With clarity, wisdom, and a great deal of enthusiasm, McDonald explores the curiosities of the big blue planet we call home as well as our galactic neighbors - from Martian caves to storm clouds on Jupiter to the nebulae at the far end of the universe.

A Great Listen
Revisado: 11-28-23
This book is educational, and very interesting. It explains how to become an astronaut, what the future of space will likely be like, and has some very funny chapters. The book writer is an absolute genius! The narrator was a bit hard to listen to. He has a slightly scratchy voice, though still pretty good for listening. It was a little more for kids, but still a great listen. I highly recommend this book.

Sweet, lovable story... Some problems...
Revisado: 11-01-23
This book is super cute, but I was unhappy with it in some ways. First of all, there was really weird singing in between chapters. The narrator who sung had a very crackly voice. I literally had to mute it when the singing was going on. The regular narrator's voice was good. I found myself occasionally wondering how such things could actually happen. I think this book is a little unrelistic. Gerty's voice made her sound like a five year old. In the middle of the story, I began to think all the girls were younger than they really were. Miri's voice was annoying at times, though generally good. I didn't really care much for the chapters with the bandits. They tended to be really suspenseful, and I don't like stories that keep me in suspense. If you've already heard this story a few times, then it's a good story to listen to at bedtime. Otherwise, it is way too exciting. I purticurly enjoyed the querry speaking. This book is worth listening to. I highly recommend it, besides the singing and everything else.

Historia
Mary Lennox starts her life as an unhappy victim of circumstance. After the loss of her parents, she moves to rural Yorkshire to live with a distant uncle where she resents the wildness of the countryside. At first, she struggles to find a place in this new existence. Although unsure about her surroundings and its occupants, through the gentle guidance of the maid she gradually becomes interested in the story of Mrs Craven, who apparently used to spend her time in a garden at the house, the key to which has vanished.

Easily the best book in the whole world!
Revisado: 10-19-23
This book is so sweet and lighthearted. I absoloutely adore it! Most children's books are boring for adults, but I think that this book is enjoyable for children and adults too. Most children's books also don't talk about kids beliving that their going to die, or more severe things like that. This book did but not in a serious or preachy way. This book is very calming, but not boring. It is the perfect kind of book to listen to at bedtime with a sleep timer. I highly reccomend this book.

Jane, Michael, and the twins have never had such a wonderful nanny, who brings enchantment and excitement everywhere she goes. In Mary Poppins Opens the Door, Mary Poppins reappears just in time! According to her tape measure, Jane and Michael have grown "Worse and Worse" since she went away.

Good book, but...
Revisado: 09-30-23
This book was interesting. I don't like the way the narrator talks. In my opinion, her voice is very gritty sounding. It makes it sound like she's blaming everything on the children. I also don't like how Mary Poppins says the crazy things that happened didn't happen. Like how she fell out of the sky, and then later told the children that that was obviously something that would never happen to her. She actually was kind of mean about it. Mary Poppins also was very vain, cruel, prideful, and more! Not at all how you would expect a children's nanny to be. I definitely prefer the first two books to this one. Sophie Thompson, who was the narrator of the first two books is so much better than this narrator.

Here is the timeless story of Mary Poppins, the world's favorite nanny, and her magical adventures with the Banks family. Mary Poppins is like no other nanny the Banks children have ever seen. It all starts when their new nanny is blown by the east wind onto the doorstep of the Banks house, carrying a parrot-headed umbrella and a magic carpetbag. She becomes a most unusual nanny to Jane, Michael, and the twins.

An… okay listen
Revisado: 09-25-23
This book was interesting. I would say for the most part, Sophie Thompson did a pretty good job of narrating this book. Her voicing of Bert and a lot of the boys was a little strange, and her voicing for the animals, specifically the snakes were really cringy. Honestly, I couldn’t listen to chapter 10 at all. I was pretty much pulling out my hair listening to the snakes sssss-ing with every word. I don’t really like the attitude of Mary Poppins as well. She is too vain and obsessed with her looks. Just don’t expect nice Julie Andrews from the movie. This Mary Poppins is 100 percent different. I my opinion, this book is a little dark and creepy. The chapter about Mrs. Corry is especially dark. I also feel like the overall story was a little boring. I honestly feel like all the Mary Poppins books are pretty much the same. You know, in the last book she left, and the kids miss her. Then shows up in her random way of showing up. She has adventures with Jane and Michel, and teaches them a lesson. (The lessons she teaches them are NOT worthwhile.) Then she suddenly leaves, and everyone mourns her departure. I give this book three stars.
