Historia
Reunited by a grave robber and a corpse, Navajo Tribal Police Lieutenant Joe Leaphorn is trying to determine the identity of a murder victim, while Officer Jim Chee is arresting Smithsonian conservator Henry Highhawk for ransacking the sacred bones of his ancestors. But with each peeled-back layer, it becomes shockingly clear that these two cases are mysteriously connected - and that others are pusuing Highhawk, with lethal intentions. And the search for answers to a deadly puzzle is pulling Leaphorn and Chee into the perilous arena of superstition, ancient ceremony, and living gods.

Historia
A woman is cruelly cut down in a remote corner of Arizona, killed on her nineteenth wedding anniversary by a drunk motorist. A year later, the driver himself dies badly, and all suspicions point to the slain woman's still-grieving husband as his murderer. But the truth is rarely black and white in the long Southwestern shadows, and one law officer is not rushing to condemn the tragic widower so quickly - Joanna Brady, sheriff of Cochise County.

Rushed ending
Revisado: 06-27-23
The ending seemed a bit rushed. Scot typically needs some time to reflect after a mission or a planned change in relationships. While changing up an ending can be effective this ending was not within the character’s lifetime behaviors.

Loved learning about different country and stories of their mythology.
The jumping from past to present was hard on my ability to understand the story but I unraveled the mystery to fast. I love the narrator, I could listen to George Guidall for ever! He’s better than James Earl Jones and Morgan Freeman!
