Historia
"That's not my sister." Overwhelmed by shock and relief, those are the only words Deven can muster when she is called to identify the body of a suicide victim. A body she was informed was her sister, Kennedy. But as she stares at the lifeless stranger, she's filled with questions: Who is this woman? Why was Deven listed as family? And most important, where is Kennedy? Her intuition tells her just one thing: this can't be a total coincidence.

Hard to get through!
Revisado: 04-20-23
A narrator can make or break the audio version of a book, this was a definite break. The story line wasn’t bad and I did listen to to the whole book but it wasn’t easy. Either the narrator needs to work on her reading and intonation or the author needs to find someone else for the job!

Barely tolerable narration!
Revisado: 11-18-22
I purchased the book based on the first two. Obviously there have been changes, the narration. If I hadn’t read the previous books I would not have stuck it out. The story line and characters are great but it was really hard to listen through to the end.

Could not handle narration
Revisado: 10-14-22
The story may have been great but after getting into the book (about 10 chapters) the narration became unbearable. Extremely monotone. I sped it up then slowed it down but it was too distracting for me to be able to finish the book. It’s a very rare instance when I just cannot bear to finish a book, this was one of those instances.

Historia
When Detective Casey White discovers the body of a beautiful teenage girl in a white nightgown near the shoreline in North Carolina’s Outer Banks, a familiar fear floods through her. Could this be Hannah, her sweet, blue-eyed daughter snatched from home 14 years ago? But it only takes one look to confirm that the girl with dark bruising around her throat is another family’s tragedy. Putting her own grief aside, Casey digs into unsolved missing child cases in the area. The victim is Cheryl Parry, one of two little girls taken during a family beach vacation nine years ago.

So very good!!
Revisado: 09-04-21
I don’t write reviews but this book is so good. It made you understand how it was for those who had to live through that shameful time in our world history. I’m not big on historical novels but this merged the past and present so seamlessly. Narration was great as well. I even shed a few tears . I am looking forward to reading more from this author.

Among all the Audible books I have listened to this was by far the worst. I tried, I really tried even skipped to the last chapter to see if it might get better. Nope it didn’t. I wouldn’t recommend!

Historia
After several decades of looking for true love and never finding it, aging model and lingerie designer, Alexa Ranger, has finally given up the search. A couple of years ago, she got tired of the game completely and just stopped dating. Now friends and family keep her mostly content, so it's shocking at 50 years old to find herself suddenly wanting a sex life again. It's even more shocking to be attracted to a much younger man this time. She definitely thinks Casey Carter is sexy, but not handling her own age well, Alexa just can't get passed their 12 year age difference to even consider a fling.

History has all but forgotten.... In the spring of 1708, an invading Jacobite fleet of French and Scottish soldiers nearly succeeded in landing the exiled James Stewart in Scotland to reclaim his crown. Now, Carrie McClelland hopes to turn that story into her next best-selling novel. Settling herself in the shadow of Slains Castle, she creates a heroine named for one of her own ancestors and starts to write. But then she discovers her novel is more fact than fiction....

At first I thought the switching between storylines was going to be annoying and that maybe I really didn't want to get into the story. Something made me continue listening and I am so glad I did. Really good. You do have to pay attention though, as I found myself going back to replay some of the chapters. I will purchase other books from this author.
