Welcome to the School for Good and Evil, where best friends Sophie and Agatha are about to embark on the adventure of a lifetime. With her glass slippers and devotion to good deeds, Sophie knows she'll earn top marks at the School for Good and join the ranks of past students like Cinderella, Rapunzel, and Snow White. Meanwhile, Agatha, with her shapeless black frocks and wicked black cat, seems a natural fit for the villains in the School for Evil.

started off like ghibli then died
Revisado: 07-25-20
I liked how this started. I was even ok with the mystical vet school. I did NOT like the rest of it. particularly the entire chapter of the main character gaining the trust of the royal beast and then in the next chapter the teacher explaining the entire previous chapter nearly word for word except for the author merely writing "and then she explained how Elin did it". gg. It literally killed this book for me and it went down hill from there. beautiful cover art though

Cath is a Simon Snow fan. Okay, the whole world is a Simon Snow fan, but for Cath, being a fan is her life - and she's really good at it. She and her twin sister, Wren, ensconced themselves in the Simon Snow Series when they were just kids; it's what got them through their mother leaving. Reading. Rereading. Hanging out in Simon Snow forums, writing Simon Snow fan fiction, dressing up like the characters for every movie premiere. Cath's sister has mostly grown away from fandom, but Cath can't let go.

not sure why I enjoyed this but I did
Revisado: 04-13-20
grew up where fanfic was life. I identify with this which is why I guess I enjoyed this story so much. I didnt write fanfic or go for slash but waiting for my favorite author to update was killer. My only criticism being is obviously Simon and Baz are Harry and Draco...so I wish they hadnt actually mentioned Harry Potter in the story.

essentially explains how life feels for the generation born with the internet. Then it goes down hill with selfish main characters, an unwarranted suicide attempt, cursing to sound edgey and really...a fanfiction writer getting a book deal for his fanfiction? are you effing kidding me!?

Not really sure how to rate it.
Revisado: 03-05-20
This started off great but then you had to sludge through it and it wouldnt end. Then you had the epic bossfight at the end and then it once again wouldnt end.
I read it was Avatar Last Airbender meets pokemon but its really Legend of Korra meets Final fantasy X (the summons). I dont think theres anything wrong with the idea, its just that it felt so lengthy unnecessarily. Also the names were not my cup of tea. It just screamed Wee-a-boo to me.

Historia
This is the way the world ends...for the last time. It starts with the great red rift across the heart of the world's sole continent, spewing ash that blots out the sun. It starts with death, with a murdered son and a missing daughter. It starts with betrayal, and long dormant wounds rising up to fester. This is the Stillness, a land long familiar with catastrophe, where the power of the Earth is wielded as a weapon. And where there is no mercy.

Historia
Every year since the Ashlords were gifted phoenix horses by their gods, they've raced them. First into battle, then on great hunts, and finally for the pure sport of seeing who rode the fastest. Centuries of blood and fire carved their competition into a more modern spectacle: The Races. Over the course of a multi-day event, elite riders from clashing cultures vie to be crowned champion. But the modern version of the sport requires more than good riding.

hunger games with horses
Revisado: 02-02-20
felt like this big race could have been more horse-ish. Sure there was some magicish in there but for being a story about a horse race I feel like that would have been the forefront. The horses made no difference, they could have been dirtbikes. There was no human connection between person and horse. There was very little racing until the end and also very little character developement...the one storyline with a major character point of view change had no build up.

I think the narrator killed it unfortutely
Revisado: 01-21-20
I feel like the narrator lost me. Its not her real accent so the emphasis on words or phrases was weird and distracting. She would also scream periodically which really wasnt ear phone friendly. Also her voice variations between characters was minimal and I quickly got confused at who was speaking. I think she got confused sometimes also and made mistakes. I had to restart this book twice to understand what was going on. Ill have to maybe one day try to read the physical book to see if my imagination makes a difference.
otherwise the gist of what I got is the main character deserves to be angry up to a point but she just seemed obnoxiously angry to the point of unlikability. And Inan is obviously Prince Zuko.
