Political Quips are Annoying
Revisado: 11-16-20
Good book, Mickey Haller in normal fashion, Peter Giles narration is fantastic, but the political quips are annoying...it almost feels like the author went back when he had the book finished and added in some political quips to make some digs at Trump, and some corona virus references, except they have a fictional timeline of when people in California were concerned with the virus and started wearing masks. Doesn't mention how one of the representatives from California was urging people to not be concerned with the virus, and to visit China Town late in the month of February. I find the one sided quips petty and annoying. We get enough of the political fighting on the news everyday, we go to books to get away from it...

On the right side of the law. Sort of. Sebastian Rudd is not your typical street lawyer. He works out of a customized bulletproof van, complete with Wi-Fi, a bar, a small fridge, fine leather chairs, a hidden gun compartment, and a heavily armed driver. He has no firm, no partners, no associates, and only one employee: his driver, who's also his bodyguard, law clerk, confidant, and golf caddy.

Chinese knock-off of Mickey Haller
Revisado: 11-02-15
I was skeptical after reading the synopsis, and my skepticism was confirmed after listening to this book. I listened to it while flying, and felt like Mickey Haller was back, but in a crappier story. Since it was the only form of entertainment I had on the plane, I persevered and finished it. Definitely not Grisham's best, and for sure so close to The Lincoln Lawyer series, that it felt like a cheap Chinese knock-off. Also had more political agenda than good story line.

Great Story, Entwined in forgotten resent history
Revisado: 10-01-13
Just finished "The Warriors" and really enjoyed it. The Story went somewhere I didn't expect, and included some resent history that is often forgotten. Gives a few perspectives on some of the turmoil that took place in the Balkans during the 1990s. Scott Brick does a great job like always. Hope there are more books in store for us.

Historia
The President of the United States can’t decide how to respond to a classified video showing the Taliban’s brutal treatment of their captive - a female helicopter pilot of the Army’s elite Special Operations Aviation Regiment. Afraid that a botched rescue will further destabilize foreign policy and end his presidency, the Commander-in-Chief falters. But when the Special Ops community learns that one of their own is being tortured and will almost certainly be killed, no executive order will stop them from attempting a rescue mission.

Not just another "Spec Ops Thriller"
Revisado: 06-13-13
I listen to most fiction and non-fiction books about military operations & memoirs of operators. It seems like this genre has had a flood of new books coming into it, and a lot of them sub-par, almost like wanting to push out as many books as they can, into a market that is growing in popularity, just to make some money. This book is well thought out, and very accurate as far as the range of personalities in a single team. I enjoyed it, and will listen to other books by Scott McEwen. The narrator does a great job, and is easy to listen to.

He is unfit for duty - until he meets his new partner. Maggie is not doing so well, either. The German shepherd survived three tours in Iraq and Afghanistan sniffing explosives before she lost her handler to an IED and sniper attack, and her PTSD is as bad as Scott’s. I downloaded the preview chapter when audible was giving us the first 2 chapters, after I listened to them, I pre-ordered "Suspect." This is absolutly a great story!!! loved it! Different kind of story than the normal Elvis Cole/Joe Pike series, but great in it's own right!

What is Sure to be a New Popular Action Series
Revisado: 11-28-12
This book picks up after the events in "Black Site" and quickly catches your attention. Well thought storyline that has depth to it, that will keep you listening. Smooth flowing, not rushed, but not bogging down either, the tempo of the book was good! Continued character development, makes Kolt Raynor more personable, and relatable.
I felt like this book was well thought about and the author took his time creating the plot and storyline. It wasn't rushed out, lacking in details and depth like some books in a new series that is popular.

Political Agenda
Revisado: 10-27-12
I downloaded this book, because it said, if you liked No Easy Day, then you'll like The Finish, or something like that. But I didn't find the two books alike at all. No Easy Day focused on the operators, the preparations, and the mission. The Finish seemed like it had more of a political agenda, and focused more on the politicians....just in time for the elections too.

Loved it! Better than Michael Crichton!
Revisado: 07-22-12
It's too bad that this is James M. Tabor's debut novel. After I listened to this book, I was hoping to find more books by this author, but there are none yet. Will definitely look forward to future books by James M. Tabor.
There was a lot of things in this book that I had little knowledge of, but he does a good job, at making the reader/listener understand the science, and technologies.
If you like me, think that the narrator plays an important roll, in the the portrayal of the novel, Paul Michael does a great job in The Deep Zone!

Fast non-stop, with twists and turns around every page. Greaney has come up with plots that are extremely original.
