I am reading this for the 3rd time now. I’ve given the hard copy of this book to a friend going through a hard time and she’s obsessed with it as well. I keep coming back to it and to specific spots in the novel where I know helped me the most. This is by far the best type of therapy i’ve ever received and i’ve actually been through many therapists lol. Literally bowing down to you, Adam. Well done.

When she stumbles across the ad, she’s looking for something else completely. But it seems like too good an opportunity to miss - a live-in nannying post, with a staggeringly generous salary. And when Rowan Caine arrives at Heatherbrae House, she is smitten - by the luxurious “smart” home fitted out with all modern conveniences, by the beautiful Scottish Highlands, and by this picture-perfect family. What she doesn’t know is that she’s stepping into a nightmare - one that will end with a child dead and herself in prison awaiting trial for murder.

the punch line was not worth the wait

despite popular opinion, I think I liked the protagonist/narrator the most in contrast to the main story line. The story wasn’t giving the reader anything to work with. There weren’t any cliff hangers and it was difficult to tell where the story was going to go. For me, this was the most difficult part regarding staying engaged. The twist took entirely too long to get to. Albeit, it wasn’t something I saw coming.
