Very Down to Earth
Revisado: 12-05-23
I just finished this in two days. I really enjoyed it. I was laughing and crying and just feeling like we were sitting down at her house and telling me her life story. I can’t even imagine losing a child but she really had some encouraging words.

Historia
Meet Ove. He’s a curmudgeon—the kind of man who points at people he dislikes as if they were burglars caught outside his bedroom window. He has staunch principles, strict routines, and a short fuse. But behind the cranky exterior there is a story and a sadness. So when one November morning a chatty young couple with two chatty young daughters move in next door and accidentally flatten Ove’s mailbox, it is the lead-in to a comical and heartwarming tale of unkempt cats, unexpected friendship, and the ancient art of backing up a U-Haul.

I really loved this book. I enjoyed the story about his love for his wife and coming to love the new neighbors. I really like JK Simmons voice so I hope he does more narrations for books.

Historia
As veteran detectives of the Birmingham Police Department, Kerri Devlin and Luke Falco have seen it all. So when the city’s new hotshot deputy district attorney turns up dead as part of a double homicide, the partners immediately get to work. But this is no ordinary case. Devlin and Falco quickly link the murdered DDA to one of their own: former BPD detective Sadie Cross. But Sadie’s fractured memory is yet another puzzle to decipher, as she only recalls bits and pieces of her violent past...a past that may hold clues to the motive behind the murders.

Kept me Wondering
Revisado: 03-11-22
I really loved this audiobook. I really felt like I knew AnnieLee personally and it was a good story with some suspense that made me take a deep breath here and there. Not to mention the love story you could feel emerge. Who doesn’t love a good old rags to riches story especially by Dolly Parton and James Patterson?

Historia
Behind the curtain of her happy on-screen persona, Valerie Bertinelli’s life has been no easy ride, especially when it comes to her own self-image and self-worth. She waged a war against herself for years, learning to equate her value to her appearance as a child star on One Day at a Time and punishing herself in order to fit into the unachievable Hollywood mold. She struggled to make her marriage to Eddie Van Halen—the true love of her life—work, despite all the rifts the rock-star lifestyle created between them.

Just like Listening to a Friend
Revisado: 02-11-22
I loved this whole book. It made me laugh, it made cry and made me take a look inside myself to be able to accept who I am not matter what body I have. I really enjoy when authors narrate their own books. It feels personal like they are reading to me. I really felt like she was just sitting in my living room and we were old friends and her love of food really made me think — I am not alone. I am her age and have grown up watching Valerie and have read her stories and struggles. I can’t imagine being in the limelight going through a lot of what she went through. Thank you Valerie for letting me see into your life and your love for your son and Eddie and your family really shined through. I’m glad you are happy because you are right—life is too short not to be.
P.S can’t wait to try your mom’s lasagna I was salivating the entire time you talked about it!

Historia
From acclaimed literary biographer of Kurt Vonnegut and Harper Lee comes the life story of a song, one of the most iconic ever written: John Lennon's "Imagine". "Twenty-two lines of graceful, plain-spoken faith in the power of a world to repair and change itself," said Rolling Stone. Only 183 seconds long, the simple melody and poetry captured the wounded hopefulness of its moment - and transcended its time to inspire generations that followed.

Historia
An online video of a girl clawing at the ceiling of her own grave could be the worst thing FBI forensic psychologist Zoe Bentley has ever seen. Perhaps even more disturbing is the implication of the video’s title: “Experiment Number One.” Zoe and her partner, Special Agent Tatum Gray, work as fast as they can to find the monster behind the shocking video, but soon another one shows up online, and another girl turns up dead.

When you listen to this audiobook, you will make many assumptions. You will assume you are listening to a story about a jealous ex-wife. You will assume she is obsessed with her replacement - a beautiful, younger woman who is about to marry the man they both love. You will assume you know the anatomy of this tangled love triangle. Assume nothing. Twisted and deliciously chilling, The Wife Between Us exposes the secret complexities of an enviable marriage - and the dangerous truths we ignore in the name of love.

Revisado: 02-21-20
I really enjoyed this book and the beautiful songs. It made me laugh and cry. She was very candid about her abuse and her body image. Her honesty made me feel like I was listening to a friend. I have never been very happy with myself and my weight since I was molested. My abuser told me I would always be fat and ugly and no one would want a fat girl. I can still hear him in my 4th grade mind and how ashamed I was that I let that happen—I’m now 59. Thankfully I have a husband who loves no matter what.
So thank you, Jessica, for being honest and making me realize even famous people can have body image issues, probably more so being in the public eye and women should be happy with themselves.

I enjoyed this book very much. I really am glad that she did the reading because I felt like it was so personal and from her heart and like I got to know her. I didn’t know that she had suffered from food issues along with other addictions. She made me feel like I’m not alone. Sometimes we don’t always realize that actors and actresses are human just because they have a lot of money and are in the public eye. I am glad she told her story because she made us feel her pain and understand what she’s been through. I can’t even imagine my kids not talking to me. This was a very beautiful and well told story. Thank you Demi.
