I bought this book because I am a huge fan of Edoardo Ballerini. He is a master at voices and accents. Each character sounds different. He even nails women's voices. I can visualize the emotions on the face of each character. He gives life to each book he reads. But that said, I really enjoyed Button Man for the story and plot itself. Very well written.

Surprisingly wonderful

When I first started listening I was tempted to quit but I am very glad I didn’t. This is one of the most enjoyable books I have ever listened to. The narrator (also the author) did a wonderful job with the accents and made the characters seem alive and visual. I recommend this book to all.

Did the plot keep you on the edge of your seat? How?
I like stories that ring true. Believeable characters. Those you can relate to because they remind you of someone you have known, whether you like them or not. This book drew my breath in instantly and I exhaled on the last page.

The reader Rich Orlow is extraordinary. His interpretation of the stuttering Jake is flawless.

I was a Burt Reynolds fan...at first. Then I wasn't...later on. I'm back on his side now. Burt's inner strength shows in this book and his honesty about the mistakes he has made in life won me back as a fan again. Thanks, Burt.

I am looking forward to the sequels. The book is well written and thought provoking.
What about Edoardo Ballerini’s performance did you like?
Eduardo Ballerini is one of the best narrators I have listened to. His accents are impeccable and each character is distinctly identifiable.
Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?
Yes. I had a hard time "putting it down"

I have listened to over 250 audible books and this is the first book that has moved me to write a review. I agree with all the accolades this book has received. Yes, there are a few tough scenes but that is what happened during those years of slavery. I would love to see a sequel and a movie should be made. The only criticism I have is that it ended too soon. I wish the author would have extended the story just a little longer. I just finished it and am starting it again.
