Historia
Spanning the years 1900 to 1977, The Covenant of Water is set in Kerala, on South India’s Malabar Coast, and follows three generations of a family that suffers a peculiar affliction: in every generation, at least one person dies by drowning—and in Kerala, water is everywhere. At the turn of the century, a twelve-year-old girl from Kerala’s long-existing Christian community, grieving the death of her father, is sent by boat to her wedding, where she will meet her forty-year-old husband for the first time.

Beautiful story and stunning narration

Very sad at points but beautifully done overall. I loved the history and the connection with medicine and inter generational lived experiences.

Historia
Will Kimberly the Cat discover the difference between being spoiled and being loved? Kimberly the Cat had it all—caviar, a mansion, diamonds—until it was all ripped away. If that wasn’t humbling enough, it was Signey, a freckled girl, 12 years old, that whisked her away. Will Kimberly and Signey ever get along, or will Kimberly finally escape with a new madam?

The character was funny and spoiled rotten but didn’t even notice it! Review from Gwenny, age 8.
