Very Useful
Revisado: 06-02-24
Worth a read/listen! I thought the repeating my statement and the “name the emotion” behind inappropriate statements were useful and immediately actionable which I like. Pretty emotionally heavy book to get through but worth it I think.

Historia
Have you ever wondered "Why did I do that?" or "Why can't I just control my behavior?" Others may judge our reactions and think, "What's wrong with that person?" When questioning our emotions, it's easy to place the blame on ourselves; holding ourselves and those around us to an impossible standard. It's time we started asking a different question. Through deeply personal conversations, Oprah Winfrey and renowned brain and trauma expert Dr. Bruce Perry offer a groundbreaking and profound shift from asking “What’s wrong with you?” to “What happened to you?”

Kinda repetitive but I also wasn’t listening very intently. It’s a nice listen though, I was more so curious than anything else.

Historia
Greece in the age of heroes. Patroclus, an awkward young prince, has been exiled to the kingdom of Phthia to be raised in the shadow of King Peleus and his golden son, Achilles. “The best of all the Greeks”—strong, beautiful, and the child of a goddess—Achilles is everything the shamed Patroclus is not. Yet despite their differences, the boys become steadfast companions. Their bond deepens as they grow into young men and become skilled in the arts of war and medicine—much to the displeasure and the fury of Achilles’ mother, Thetis, a cruel sea goddess with a hatred of mortals.

Tears of joy and heart break
Revisado: 02-10-23
No other book has been as heart wrenching yet beautiful. Every time I went for a long run or walk I would listen and wished I could just finish it before my cardio was up. First book to bring me tears of joy. In many ways this book speaks to the growing international Latinx community and it made me feel seen. A modern master piece in every way. Gracias Isabel Allende por este libro maravilloso!

What has been lost to history is the spark of wonder when the European met the American for the first time. Zoratama is that glimpse, told in the passion of a conquistador, for an American beauty: the love, the eroticism, the loss, and the tragedy. Jaime Bedoya Martinez’s Zoratama constructs the vision for modern Hispanic society through the eyes and passion of consorts of divergent worlds.

An Amazing Must Read!!!
Revisado: 01-11-23
Wonderful narrative, very well read! The viewpoint from the author as his younger-self was the correct decision as it broadens the accessibility of the complex story to a wider audience! I enjoyed the whole story; I could not stop listening!
