The production was excellent. Riley’s voice telling the story of her tortured, sad mom made it so heart wrenching.

This is the story of generations of a family with no hope. Even though they had been involved with a “religion,” they did not know Hope. They seem to live every day without hope and after listening to their story, I am even more sad for them.

This story had a lot of potential, but was ruined by the base, unimaginably banal thoughts and relationships. Soft porn is used for minor shock value, attempting to keep the reader interested. I have never met anyone as boring as these characters are written. Another Audible credit wasted.

He tells his story with humor and compassion. His wild spirit is so evident from the very beginning. I didn’t think the profanity was necessary, but it’s not my story to tell.

So much history! Well told!

The two stories, woven together, but separate, were so well-told. The battle for good and for building up and making beautiful against the battle for evil and the destroying of lives. It takes finishing the book to see the full contrast.

Loved this more than I expected

It can be a lot of details at times, but the history and story of these men & women and what they went through to preserve art for all the world. Amazing.

I SO wanted to love this

…but I didn’t. I gave up because of all the profanity. So sad, too, because it just wasn’t necessary to tell the stories.

Better than I expected

I read this book out of curiosity and quickly fell into step with the Alcott sisters, their rivalry and their affection for one another. A great story!

So Well Written One Could Easily Hate Einstein After Reading This Book

Remembering throughout the story that it is a work of fiction, it is written so well that one can easily grow to hate Einstein, the man, and doubt his every accomplishment. It also carries with it a cautionary tale to every educated woman to not allow her husband’s ambitions to overshadow her own.

The editors should have cleaned this up.

Several times during the book I wished the editors had cleaned up the story. There’s so much extraneous information that did not add to the story at all. Could have been a lot better if they had left out the gratuitous sex scenes. Especially the one in the sanitarium…this was completely out of character for this woman.
