Historia
Created in the Emperor's own image, the primarchs had long thought themselves to be princes of the universe and masters of their own destiny - they led the Space Marine Legions in glorious conquest of the galaxy, and no enemy of the Imperium could stand against them. However, even amongst this legendary brotherhood, the seeds of dissent had been sown long before the treacherous Warmaster Horus declared his grand heresy.

this one isn't plagued by the 2 minute rewinds
Revisado: 03-10-22
the rest of the series has random 2 minute rewinds, this book doesn't. probably because of the short stories. it's odd for none of the primarchs on the cover to not be in the book though..

Alongside a mysterious band of renegades, he plunges into the deadly underworld of Terra itself, hunted like a criminal by those he once trusted.

disjointed from the rest of the story thus far
Revisado: 01-26-22
this story is disjointed from the timeline of events.. it starts out that the entire galaxy knows of the Heresy and the retaliation fleet is on its way to Istvan 5... but the desolation of Prospero hasn't occurred yet... Magnus even comes through to give his warning... which in previous books it was stressed that he was trying to warn an unknowing emporium of man about a future betrayal by Horrus...
performance wise there are several parts where the book skips back a couple minutes like a skipping record. (I checked, I wasn't somehow rewinding)

good but the music between chapters...

a turning point in the tone of the story, well done, however...
the music between the chapters was squelchy and poor quality. a notable shift from the previous nooks

Historia
The first invasion of Earth was beaten back by a coalition of corporate and international military forces and the Chinese army. China has been devastated by the Formic's initial efforts to eradicate Earth life forms and prepare the ground for their own settlement. The Scouring of China struck fear into the other nations of the planet; that fear blossomed into drastic action when scientists determined that the single ship that wreaked such damage was merely a scout ship. There is a mothership out beyond the solar system's Kuiper Belt, and it's heading into the system.

One glaring Inaccuracy
Revisado: 12-25-19
In the 1st formic wars books free miners managed to damage the hull of the formic scout ship Using mining explosives while traveling alongside the ship and now in this book they insinuate that the hole was indestructible the whole time. It seems like and very painful oversight in the premise of this indestructable hull

alaxy. Humanity was slowly making their way out from Earth to the planets and asteroids of the Solar System, exploring and mining and founding colonies. The mining ship El Cavador is far out from Earth, in the deeps of the Kuiper Belt, beyond Pluto. Other mining ships, and the families that live on them, are few and far between this far out. So when El Cavador's telescopes pick up a fast-moving object coming in-system, it's hard to know what to make of it. It's massive and moving at a significant fraction of the speed of light.

Historia
At the end of Shadow of the Giant, Bean flees to the stars with three of his children—the three who share the engineered genes that gave him both hyper-intelligence and a short, cruel physical life. The time dilation granted by the speed of their travel gives Earth's scientists generations to seek a cure, to no avail. In time, they are forgotten—a fading ansible signal speaking of events lost to Earth's history. But the Delphikis are about to make a discovery that will let them save themselves, and perhaps all of humanity in days to come.

a real "page turner"!!!
Revisado: 12-09-19
Orson did Julian "Bean" justice with this peice. it really ties in his kids to the story, but adds some scientific explanation to the formica, and explains better what communication is like, though it doesn't stay consistent with the language of coice in the mind the formic queen uses with Ender Wiggin. Rather it describes the transfer of information as a transfer of emotions and images. perhaps the tie together novel will better explain this and maybe they will figure it out. love this series.
Note to Orson Scott Card: you better get that stroke thing figured out. we can't have you dying before finishing your universe the way JRR Tolkien died before finishing his middle earth lore

Historia
Bean's past was a battle just to survive. He first appeared on the streets of Rotterdam, a tiny child with a mind leagues beyond anyone else. He knew he could not survive through strength; he used his tactical genius to gain acceptance into a children's gang, and then to help make that gang a template for success for all the others. He civilized them, and lived to grow older. Then he was discovered by the recruiters for the Battle School.

where was the author interview in this one?
Revisado: 12-07-19
Lacked the author's interview that all the previous books and Ender's story had. Is it too recent of a book to reflect on?

good book, but it changes some points
Revisado: 11-30-19
The location of enders house is wrong. You can't give Ender's parents a 3 dimensional viewpoint while ignoring the way they were portrayed in Ender's Game. They moved away and out to the country to change Peter. In this book they remained in Greensboro, NC hoping for their Andrew to return

another step in a great series
Revisado: 11-05-19
I love the story and the philosophy behind it, however there were times in the book that all I could feel was delayed and anxious to get back to the real story. a lot of the conversations Peter engaged in with on other worlds felt forced and more as a filler. Quara's character feels unbearably one dimensional locked in some sort of child like arrogance that feels too shallow to actually exist... If Orrasan's intent was for us to absolutely hate the Quara character, he has succeeded... I hated every motivator she had in every statement... so arrogantly linear and unbelievably nieve.
