Best book I've listened to in awhile!
Revisado: 08-10-16
This book will keep you intrigued from the very beginning to the end! This book immersed me into the beautiful indian culture and the insights of a humble rural girl. I felt Mellie's joy and pain. There are no plot twist and story somewhat predictable but if you looking for a feel good book this is it. This should be on everyone's list to read. I'm on to the next in this series.

Awful
Revisado: 09-09-14
What would have made Falling Glass better?
Different narrator and more cohesive storyline.
Would you ever listen to anything by Adrian McKinty again?
No. His accent was fine but the tone of his voice was an issue.
Would you be willing to try another one of Gerard Doyle’s performances?
Not based on this book.
You didn’t love this book... but did it have any redeeming qualities?
Nothing at all.
Any additional comments?
I got what I paid for. Purchased via deal of the day for $3.95. Wish it was refundable so I could get my money back.

Simply delightful
Revisado: 06-21-14
What made the experience of listening to The Secret Countess the most enjoyable?
Great choice of narrator for this novel. I loved the range of voices she used to depict the various characters. Although I have little knowledge of French and no experience with Russian, I was able to understand the context of the words because of the narrator.
What does Davina Porter bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?
The narrator brought life to the characters through her various accents and pronunciation of French and Russian words.
Who was the most memorable character of The Secret Countess and why?
The most memorable character would have to be Anna. She was born into a world of wealth and privilege but remained humble.

Do not purchase audio book
Revisado: 06-21-14
How could the performance have been better?
The narrator of this book is a computer. It was painful to listen to the first 5 minutes of the book. There is no inflection and emotion in narration of this novel. There needs to be a disclaimer when narration is done by automation. I want a refund!
