Historia
Why did Agatha Christie spend her career pretending that she was "just" an ordinary housewife, when clearly she wasn't? Lucy Worsley's biography is not just of a massively, internationally successful writer. It's also the story of a person who, despite the obstacles of class and gender, became an astonishingly successful working woman. With access to rarely seen personal letters and papers, Lucy Worsley's biography is both authoritative and entertaining and makes us realize what an extraordinary pioneer Agatha Christie was—truly a woman who wrote the twentieth century.

Great Insight and detailed journey!
Revisado: 03-12-23
The book provides great insight into Agatha’s life and all of the events that shaped her journey. She was as complex and multi-dimensional as her books. She made her way in an ever evolving socio-political time colored by 2 world wars and the transition into the modern world. A strong minded woman who had to face personal & societal diverse transformations all along the way some because the world was changing so dramatically and some because she was a woman at a time that when being a woman in that world meant having to re-create yourself at so many steps and turns.

You just gotta LOVE Sam!!!
Revisado: 02-19-23
Listening to this bookends like getting to know Sam. In his writing and narrating you get to know Sam and how his mind works, share his perspective and feel like you are getting to know a new friend. I loved the book and sharing Sam’s experience in the moment and the different ways it colored his past would influence his future. I look forward to getting to know Sam better.

Historia
I’ve been in this life for fifty years, been trying to work out its riddle for forty-two, and been keeping diaries of clues to that riddle for the last thirty-five. Notes about successes and failures, joys and sorrows, things that made me marvel, and things that made me laugh out loud. How to be fair. How to have less stress. How to have fun. How to hurt people less. How to get hurt less. How to be a good man. How to have meaning in life. How to be more me. Recently, I worked up the courage to sit down with those diaries.

Have a great time hanging with McConaughy!
Revisado: 01-29-21
Like having a great time hanging out with Matthew McConaughy and getting to know where he came from, what makes him who he is and what his game plan for living an intentional life is. I always enjoy a book more when the writer is the one who tells the story. I was really sorry for the book to end. Hopefully, he will write another one in the future. Hey man, thanks for sharing your story with me. I listened while I was on a long road trip, thanks for making the trip with me!
