Historia
While Pang-Mei Natasha Chang was a Chinese Studies major at Harvard University, she stumbled across the name of her 83-year-old great aunt Chang Yu-i in a history book. Over the next several years, Pang-Mei spent long afternoons drawing forth her aunt's story. Born in Shanghai to a well-to-do family, Chang Yu-i lived a life of defiance, continually breaking class and culture barriers.

Historia
The Nazi regime preached an ideology of physical, mental, and moral purity. But as Norman Ohler reveals in this gripping new history, the Third Reich was saturated with drugs. On the eve of World War II, Germany was a pharmaceutical powerhouse, and companies such as Merck and Bayer cooked up cocaine, opiates, and, most of all, methamphetamines, to be consumed by everyone from factory workers to housewives to millions of German soldiers.

Informative and entertaining.
Revisado: 03-27-21
While much of the focus tends to be on Hitler and the various concoctions administered by his personal Doctor, it also includes several other accounts of drug addled nazi Germany.
In this audiobook, you will discover just how some of today's most illicit, dangerous, and deadly substances were used and distributed through the third reich. Not only were these narcotics utilized to enhance military performance, but one particularly addictive substance was openly available and popularly used by a significant number of citizens.
The narrator performs well and is easily understood. However, I do recommend listening at an increased rate of speed.
