Historia
The works of Thomas Wolfe cemented his legacy as one of the very best of the American Southern writers. Wolfe's largely autobiographical novel features Eugene Gant, who pines for a more expansive life after being born to a father whose bouts of maniacal raving are fueled by a prodigious appetite for drink.

Excellently narritated.
Revisado: 09-25-22
Best way to read this book in my view. It's long but beautifully written. The poetry has been carefully considered. The voices of the characters is subtle and appropriate.

Historia
George Webber, a first-time author, writes a book that makes frequent references to his home town of Libya Hill. The book is a success, except in Libya Hill, where the residents believe that it paints an extremely distorted portrait of their town. They send Webber menacing letters, including death threats.

I want my credit back.
Revisado: 09-25-22
Terrible. Recording has skips, repeats. It's not the book, so this is false advertising. The script is not how Thomas Wolfe would have written it. The acting and direction are infantile. Audio quality and transfer poor. Music straight from the worst of Hollywood. Flubbed lines.

Historia
The Early Middle Ages-the years from A.D. 650 to 1000-were crucial to Europe's future social and political development. These 24 lectures trace a journey from Scandinavia across northern and central Europe to the farthest reaches of the Byzantine and Islamic empires, providing an exciting new look an era often simply called the "Dark Ages."

Great presentation of broad topics.

Good overview. Not too much detail or overly simplified. A little theory, a little historiography, social history, surprising nuggets, etc

It’s summer in Memphis. The sweat is sticking to Rudy Baylor’s shirt and creditors are nipping at his heels. Once he had aspirations of breezing through law school and punching his ticket to the good life. Now he doesn’t have a job or a prayer—except for one: an insurance dispute that leaves a family devastated and opens the door for a lawsuit, if Rudy can find a way to file it. By the time Rudy gets to court, a heavyweight corporate defense team is there to meet him. And suddenly he’s in over his head, plunged into a nightmare of lies and legal maneuverings.

Awful transfer
Revisado: 11-07-20
This could have been great, but the mistakes in the transfer with repeating sections, missing sections?, and "To continue plug in CD4" makes charging money for this a crime.

Best so far.
Revisado: 10-12-18
Best of 10 listened to so far. Narration was great particularly of the weasley former husband. The story pits loyalty of Mason to his client and the truth against the disloyalty of God client to him. Far better than the television episode of the same title. Expect to have to look past the insulting comments about women and borderline sexual harassment. But that's true about all novels of this period unfortunately.
