Historia
First celebrated for her voice, she became one of the most talked-about women in the world, whether for music and fashion, her relationship struggles, or as a walking blonde joke. But now, instead of being talked about, Jessica is doing the talking. Her audiobook shares the wisdom and inspirations she’s learned and shows the real woman behind all the pop-culture clichés. Open Book is an opportunity to laugh and cry with a close friend, one that will inspire you to live your best, most authentic life, now that she is finally living hers.

Over too quick
Revisado: 03-30-24
Really glad I got this one. There is so much more to Jessica Simpson’s story than the public really got (and we certainly are not entitled to .) I’m really happy for her that she told her story (well what there is so far, she’s got a lot of living to do still!) that it really can help others - it helped me - and that she seems to be in such a great place. Also, think she did a really good job reading it.

Historia
From the excesses of the late 19th-century Gilded Age, through the horrors of World War I, to the transformations of the Roaring 20s that gave birth to her magisterial Etiquette, Emily Post unfailingly took the measure of her era. A Baltimore blue blood with a populist heart, she helped the masses live the American dream with her hugely popular book, which has been continuously in print for over 85 years.

Biased review (Emily is a relative)
Revisado: 03-14-22
Loved this biography, absolutely loved it and it made me love and appreciate Emily Post all the more. Amazed at how much detail Claridge was able to find and appreciate the times when she doesn’t know something for sure and admits speculation. For those interested: Claridge’s book Mind Over Manners details how in the middle of writing this Emily Post book she lost her memory and how Emily inspired her to keep going.

A favorite brought to life

I love Rebecca Wells’ Louisiana worlds and Judith Ivey does a nice job bringing them to life. Very enjoyable to listen to.
