Good Solid Debut Novel!
Revisado: 02-12-25
Well written with amusing kid humor, a mystery, and excellent character development. A good plot, if somewhat predictable. A well written story with funny parenting foibles. Not overly gruesome and was a nice break from the daily news. Enjoyable, easy, entertaining listen.

Amazingly twisted and very dark.
Revisado: 08-26-24
Characters were entangled and plot was full of so many connections it was not believable. Naive main character so impulsive it was hard to relate to her. Lots of gaslighting and abuse. Not uplifting. Plot twists kept me listening, but dissatisfied in the end. Not for me.

Great Family Saga with Excellent Narration!
Revisado: 07-13-24
This story of family, people with good intentions who make mistakes, and the power of love and healing was a great listen. The cast of narrators made identifying the characters easy, so the well- developed plot was easy to follow. The setting was like another character. I'm an avid listener of over a thousand books, and this one is an uplifting keeper! Enjoy!

Good plot......enjoyable read.
Revisado: 04-09-24
The book was OK. Some of the plot seemed implausible, like the chance meeting of the main characters. The MANY mispronunciations by the narrator of simple words like halo was SO DISTRACTING. I'd probably pass on this one, overall. Just OK.

I've read many of this author's books and enjoy the intricate plots with so many threads that tie neatly together at the end. His knowledge of the law, well drawn characters, twisty plot, and pace were excellent. would recommend this one!

Historia
As a doctor, I walk a dangerously delicate balance of being compassionate but not overly invested. The same is true in my personal life - love is a luxury I can’t afford. It isn’t until Dr. Westin Grant breaks down all my walls and offers me a future, I find myself wondering if I’m brave enough to risk my heart. When who I was and who I’ve tried to become collide during my clinical trial, the fate of one patient changes everything.

Revisado: 01-31-24
I had not read books by this author, but the description sounded like an interesting premise, and I knew I like the narrator, so decided to give it a try. I'm glad I did! Very well written, great narration, and good production quality. Definitely worth a listen, and will have you pondering what ifs and the road less traveled long after the ending!

Love this series!
Revisado: 01-21-24
Both books in this series were totally enjoyable and fascinating listens! I would say the pace and tone were slower and quieter in The Magician of Lhasa,, while The Secret Mantra centered on the adventure of the archetypal quest. The author does an excellent job of narration, with a pleasant voice perfect for the story.
I learned so much at a very deep level while being totally engaged and entertained. One of my favorites out of over a thousand audibles! Reminds me of Dan Brown's DaVinci Code, but with more non fictional content embedded in the work. Can't wait for the next one in the Matt Lester series!

Really Liked This One!
Revisado: 01-15-24
Enjoy this author's fiction. I like how the chapters are labeled so it's clear when listening which time period you are reading about. Also enjoyed Buddhist lessons embedded in fiction. The author has a great voice for narrating his own work....not always the case. Buying the next book in series and looking forward to more!

Uplifting Story
Revisado: 01-09-24
This was my first book by the author. It reflects her understanding as a therapist of general personality types. The characters were the most interesting element of this story. I also learned some interesting new things about bees. The plot was simple and predictable. I wish it had been described as Christian fiction because I think it would have been more accurate and up front. I would read another work by this author because, while the writing isn't spectacular like Tom Lake, it still made me feel good and gave me some new insights into people and bees.
