Excellent Writing
Revisado: 08-21-24
This series is incredibly fun to experience! I love the world building, crafting powers, races, and characters Butcher has written. It has a good balance of action and character development as well. It all feels sincere and not cheap or gimmicky. This is my third time reading the series, and I am enjoying it even more that the previous two times!

Since time immemorial the Spires have sheltered humanity, towering for miles over the mist-shrouded surface of the world. Within their halls aristocratic houses have ruled for generations, developing scientific marvels, fostering trade alliances, and building fleets of airships to keep the peace. Captain Grimm commands the merchant ship Predator. Fiercely loyal to Spire Albion, he has taken their side in the cold war with Spire Aurora, disrupting the enemy's shipping lines by attacking their cargo vessels.

Good book, but poor pronunciation by narrator.
Revisado: 02-20-22
Nice story, but the narrator has a very hard time pronouncing certain words. It's almost comically bad. looking forward to starting the next Nate-based book and getting back to that perspective!

Historia
Faced with writing college papers, prepping for tests, and teaching testy witches, Declan O'Carroll has enough on his plate. Not to mention the magical withdrawal of leaving his very own magical kingdom behind on Fairie. But when he and his friends are attacked from creatures out of folklore and fable, it seems the Queens of Summer and Winter aren't done with him yet.

it was alright.
Revisado: 06-04-18
Declan is turning into a douche. The story was alright, but a little brief in places. Decent action, no character development, and I feel like there is something compelling on the way... it just wasn't in this book. Entertaining enough to hold interest in the series, but don't expect it to knock your socks off. Also it hurts a little when James Patrick Cronin does accents. Otherwise a great narration!

They’ve made allies on the darker side of many pantheons, and there’s a globe-spanning battle brewing that ancient Druid Atticus O’Sullivan will be hardpressed to survive, much less win.

Disappointing
Revisado: 04-12-18
It ended very quickly with no real struggle during the "final showdown". Considering all the buildup for doomsday I expected FAR more out of the showdown itself. The pacing and detail given seemed like what you would expect from a novella. It just gives me the feeling that the author just wanted to end the series as quickly as possible.

Historia
Sandman Slim must save himself - and the entire world - from the wrath of some enraged and vengeful ancient gods in this sixth high-octane adventure in the New York Times best-selling series. Being a half-human, half-angel nephilim with a bad rep and a worse attitude - not to mention temporarily playing Lucifer - James Stark, aka Sandman Slim, has made a few enemies. None, though, are as fearsome as the vindictive Angra Om Ya - the old gods.

I like this series a lot. Plot holes are frequent.
Revisado: 02-22-18
This is a great series. Dark humor, cool action, neat fantasy/magic elements. I do feel like there are a lot of plot holes throughout. Inconsistencies exist here and there that are noticeable, but don't really affect much about the story or decrease the entertainment value. You'll just find yourself saying, "Hmmm, this doesn't make sense with something they said earlier in the book... or with a previous book."
I would certainly recommend the series.
