Historia
We want our kids to have the best education, but less-than-ideal school environments and concern about our kids' specific needs have parents uncertain about traditional schooling. A trusted homeschool expert with 25 years of experience homeschooling her own eight children, Durenda Wilson offers a better way and promises that you already have what it takes to give your child a healthy, successful future. In The Four-Hour School Day, she unpacks the lifelong advantages of home education, both for the health of your family and your child's future.

Good Content
Revisado: 06-04-24
There is a lot of good content in this volume. I enjoyed it and feel inspired to take on the homeschooling challenge. The only problem with it is that it is a religious book that should have Christian in the title to inform potential purchasers. The real problem is with Amazon who very strategically put many reviews to the front of the line that did not mention that the author would say God at least 500 times. I am sure that when they see this critical opinion, they will put my review at the bottom of the reviews. Again I enjoyed the book and feel like I am walking away with a lot of good information.

Historia
Nothing is harder to do these days than nothing. But in a world where our value is determined by our 24/7 data productivity...doing nothing may be our most important form of resistance. So argues artist and critic Jenny Odell in this field guide to doing nothing (at least as capitalism defines it). Our attention is the most precious - and overdrawn - resource we have. Once we can start paying a new kind of attention, we can undertake bolder forms of political action, reimagine humankind's role in the environment, and find more meaningful understandings of happiness and progress.

Not written for a working class fellow trying to learn something….. she’s probably proud of that.

Historia
In Mind in Motion, psychologist Barbara Tversky shows that spatial cognition isn't just a peripheral aspect of thought, but its very foundation, enabling us to draw meaning from our bodies and their actions in the world. Our actions in real space get turned into mental actions on thought, often spouting spontaneously from our bodies as gestures. Spatial thinking underlies creating and using maps, assembling furniture, devising football strategies, designing airports, understanding the flow of people, traffic, water, and ideas.

Bring a good pillow. The editor did. He was asleep not doing his job. I can not recommend this book but I do appreciate the author’s expertise and dedication to the interesting subject.

Both a captivating narrative and a book of environmental and historical significance, American Buffalo tells us as much about ourselves as Americans as it does about the creature who perhaps best of all embodies the American ethos.

Historia
Everyone knows that high IQ is no guarantee of success, happiness, or virtue, but until Emotional Intelligence, we could only guess why. Daniel Goleman's brilliant report from the frontiers of psychology and neuroscience offers startling new insight into our “two minds” - the rational and the emotional - and how they together shape our destiny. Through vivid examples, Goleman delineates the five crucial skills of emotional intelligence and shows how they determine our success in relationships, work, and even our physical well-being.

When will this be over?
Revisado: 02-22-19
I new it was an important book to read but I kept asking myself ‘when will it be over’. Painful to listen to for so long.
