Entertaining read
Revisado: 08-28-19
It's not too slow but the whole story is a slow build up to an apocalypse. The conversations between the characters felt real enough to believe that's how it would go down. The areas in Florida were spot on as I either lived in or patrolled those areas for over 30 years. Good job!

I like the possibility of how humans destroy themselves. the story style reminds me of The Martian.

Surprisngly Refreshing
Revisado: 06-11-15
Based on others reviews, I was reluctant when I chose this audible book. However, the quirky characters carried to the story through an amusing experience. I enjoyed the steampunk world with a troubled protagonist who even though he was living it, didn't believe in what he was seeing and hearing. The humor made the story a joy to listen to as the wit was tossed here and fro. I look forward to listening to more enjoyable books from this author.

THIS IS NOT ANOTHER ZOMBIE OUTBREAK STORY
Revisado: 02-01-15
I was pleasantly surprised by this story. I went into it expecting a zombie virus outbreak story. This is not that. It deals with the build up of a flu pandemic and how it affects a single street community during the outbreak. The main character is a prepper and is well prepared for the event. However, his naive neighbors are unbelieving that an outbreak could happen. The story deals with the main character convincing his neighbors that the outbreak is real and the government will not be able to help the residents for some time to come. Of course some of the neighbors do not have enough food or supplies to survive. They turn on their neighbors out of desperation. The story is believable. There are protagonists and antagonists amongst the neighbors which is what I would expect during a major crisis.
If you enjoy this story I would suggest you read "One Second After" for a different perspective of how a local community deals with a world apocalypse.

Grafton and Carmellini are back, battling terrorists on the high seas alongside a top-notch team of Navy SEALs in an action-packed tale by New York Times best-selling author Stephen Coonts. A luxurious vacation cruise to the exotic locales of the Red Sea and the Gulf of Aden turns into a nightmare for passengers and crew when their ship is suddenly attacked and captured by a band of bloodthirsty Somali pirates. An initial rescue mission ends in failure, and the decks are covered in blood. Unless they are paid a ransom of $200 million within seven days, the pirates threaten to execute all their hostages.

Pirates Ahoy!
Revisado: 07-28-14
I never thought I would be a Stephen Coonts fan yet, this is my second book I've read by the author and I enjoy them as a deviation from usual affair with world apocalypse stories. They have strong characters that can over come any challenge. The stories are action packed like a Bond novel. They may be far fetched but they are certainly entertaining and this story delivers.

Keep growing stronger
Revisado: 07-28-14
This series is slow for me. I prefer more action and suspense to keep me interested in the story. However, there is something that tugs at me to keep listening. To see what the group will encounter next in their life trials and how it will make them grow stronger as a clan. I look forward to the next book in the series.

Historia
This is the story of Michael Talbot, his family, and his friends: a band of ordinary people trying to get by in extraordinary times. When disaster strikes, Mike, a self-proclaimed survivalist, does his best to ensure the safety and security of those he cares for. Book one of the Zombie Fallout Trilogy follows our lead character at his self-deprecating, sarcastic best. What he encounters along the way leads him down a long dark road, always skirting the edge of insanity.

Zombie Fun
Revisado: 09-03-12
What made the experience of listening to Zombie Fallout the most enjoyable?
The character was hilarious. His thoughts weren't about the zombie attack but, instead on how is he going to replace the flat-screen TV the zombie just destroyed in his home. I found this perspective fresh and funny. Good job.
What about Sean Runnette’s performance did you like?
Yes, he was believable.

Historia
Ensign Andrew Dahl has just been assigned to the Universal Union Capital Ship Intrepid, flagship of the Universal Union since the year 2456. Life couldn’t be better…until Andrew begins to pick up on the facts that (1) every Away Mission involves some kind of lethal confrontation with alien forces; (2) the ship’s captain, its chief science officer, and the handsome Lieutenant Kerensky always survive these confrontations; and (3) at least one low-ranked crew member is, sadly, always killed.

NOT BAD...
Revisado: 09-02-12
Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?
For a weekend listening, I would recommend it. It's not as Star trekky as I had thought it would be.
What was your reaction to the ending? (No spoilers please!)
Eh. I felt where the story was going was fine, but there was no action to carry it. I didn't feel any suspense or excitement waiting for the characters to achieve their climatic end.
