I found the method very efficient and I enjoyed the tips (tomato, mosquito, pluto etc) in forming the different tenses. It includes pretty much everything you need to know if you plan a journey to Italy. I found the narrative voice a bit to relaxing :). I also adjusted the speed to 1.2 or 1.3, as the pace was a bit too slow. There are a lot of repetitions but I guess this is how the vocabulary sticks. Overall, a good investment, well worth the 1 credit for the complete course.

If you are a very beginner planning to go on a trip to Italy, this will give you a minimal vocabulary so you could use it here and there, more for fun than actually to accomplish things. For example, if you want to book a room or order in a restaurant. That's about it.
I am curious about the longer course as I like Paul Noble style. It is a bit slow and has a lot of repetitions but I guess this is how it sticks. His voice and accent reminds me a lot of Andy from Headspace. So it is very relaxing, you can almost meditate on it :)

If you Italian is zero, then this is a good start. But if you already know few words like buongiorno, arrivederci, per favore, piazza etc. then I recommend the next course(s). Other than that, I find Pimsleur method great and it works very well for me (purchased the French 1-4 courses). Some say it should contain more vocabulary and I agree, the purpose is to be able to have a conversation which you can not with only few words. But someone who does not know even few words, having an extensive vocabulary might be overwhelming. So, it really depend what your needs are. Oh, and it is a bit expensive for the amount you learn. There should be a bundle so you could buy the entire course (like it is for French). Buying units separately will take you to spending 6 credits for Course 1 only, which it comes to 66-90$, depending on your plan. Anyway, I look forward to what the next units have to offer.
