Story is predictable, and characters are wooden.
Revisado: 03-07-25
This is a huge disappointment. The stories are so predictable, and characters have no life to them. If you want to bored for over thirty hours, this is the book for you.

Historia
Since time immemorial, humans have worshipped the gods they call Fhrey, truly a race apart: invincible in battle, masters of magic, and seemingly immortal. But when a god falls to a human blade, the balance of power between humans and those they thought were gods changes forever. Now only a few stand between humankind and annihilation: Raithe, reluctant to embrace his destiny as the God Killer; Suri, a young seer burdened by signs of impending doom; and Persephone, who must overcome personal tragedy to lead her people. The Age of Myth is over. The time of rebellion has begun.

Just finished the whole six books
Revisado: 02-11-25
Beware before starting this series… don’t get attached to any of the characters in this book. The author completely drops them for characters that are boring and irritating. Relationships are juvenile. Characters have to constantly tell each other how great they are(as a reader don’t believe it). Read this author before and was so disappointed in this series.

Historia
In Age of Myth, fantasy master Michael J. Sullivan launched audiences on an epic journey of magic and adventure, heroism and betrayal, love and loss. Now the thrilling saga continues as the human uprising is threatened by powerful enemies from without—and bitter rivalries from within. Raithe, the God Killer, may have started the rebellion by killing a Fhrey, but long-standing enmities dividing the Rhunes make it all but impossible to unite against the common foe. And even if the clans can join forces, how will they defeat an enemy whose magical prowess renders them indistinguishable from gods?

Big step down from the first book
Revisado: 02-01-25
Second book lost all its identity. Book was a snore-fest, and the characters have become fantasy filler.

Huge disappointment!!!!!!!!!
Revisado: 05-26-24
This was a miserable ending for a series of books I really enjoyed. Did the same author write this book? All the characters lost their unique personalities. They all became preachers, started making stupid decisions, and the story was just so boring. The point of view of a giant cook was just nonsense. We already met a fire giant who would have loved some revenge. So many of the authors decisions seemed lazy.
Huge disappointment!!!!

Amazing value!!!
Revisado: 02-02-23
When I purchased this series I was hesitant. Usually when they bundle books together they usually have the feeling of bad fan fiction.
Not these set of books . A great retelling of stories and characters. I was shocked how the author made the Norse gods seem so powerful, and yet so flawed, so human. Plus they use the word trench more than a French man in the 1914.

Historia
In The End Is Always Near, Dan Carlin looks at questions and historical events that force us to consider what sounds like fantasy; that we might suffer the same fate that all previous eras did. Will our world ever become a ruin for future archaeologists to dig up and explore? The questions themselves are both philosophical and like something out of The Twilight Zone.

I owe Dan so much coin for his podcast. This book being a beginners guide to history didn’t bother me.
