Historia
Everything I’d known about the world was a lie. On my thirteenth birthday, I, Alcatraz Smedry (yes, I got named after a prison, don’t ask), received my inheritance: a bag of sand. And then I accidentally destroyed my foster parents’ kitchen. It’s not my fault, things just break around me, I swear! I thought the sand was a joke until evil Librarians came to steal it. You’re probably thinking, “Librarians are nice people who recommend good books,” but that’s just what they want you to think!

So good!
Revisado: 07-07-23
Brandon Sanderson NEVER disappoints. I am always happy with his stories. Just when you think you have the whole book “figured out,” right when you think you know which characters are villains and which ones are not, he throws something in there that reminds you, this fictional world he has created is far from predictable and cannot fit into the same neatly-packaged box that other fantasy and fiction authors like to nestle themselves inside. He’s a genius, I tell you. He provides such unique, entertaining characters. He has mastered the art of writing humorous scenes, action scenes, and unexpected plot twists. I just love it, and I hope to read more! 🙂

Mirror, mirror on the wall, who is the fairest of them all? Fans of the Lunar Chronicles know Queen Levana as a ruler who uses her "glamour" to gain power. But long before she crossed paths with Cinder, Scarlet, and Cress, Levana lived a very different story - a story that has never been told - until now. Marissa Meyer spins yet another unforgettable tale about love and war, deceit and death.

it's very funny, very entertaining, but I would recommend reading the earlier books in the series before you read this one, so it's less confusing. I think my favorite part is reading how Apollo narrates the story.

I'm not really loving these Cape Cod radio shows. I normally like radio mystery shows, but one moved way too slow. I got tired of it.

Confusing and strange
Revisado: 07-18-20
I loved Catherynne M. Valente's first two books, but this one is a big disappointment to me. I really don't like it. It's confusing, bizarre, and a lot of really strange events are never fully explained, not so they seem to matter in plot as a whole.

Marie-Laure lives with her father in Paris near the Museum of Natural History, where he works as the master of its thousands of locks. When she is six, Marie-Laure goes blind and her father builds a perfect miniature of their neighborhood so she can memorize it by touch and navigate her way home. When she is 12, the Nazis occupy Paris and father and daughter flee to the walled citadel of Saint-Malo, where Marie-Laure’s reclusive great-uncle lives in a tall house by the sea. With them they carry what might be the museum’s most valuable and dangerous jewel.

Profoundly beautiful.
Revisado: 05-21-20
I LOVE this book. Love it. Be prepared for an emotional journey though. When you read it, there will be many scenes that are difficult and quite painful to absorb. It is sad, terribly unfair, and crimes are committed against innocent people. That being said, this author is a genius. He creates a world that is both beautiful and terrifying at the same time. The story reminds me that the goodness of the human spirit can be triumphant, and miracles take place, despite what evils and tragedies in the world will try to stamp out the joy of living.
