Nice information, poorly read
Revisado: 11-18-22
Decent travel information, but I was constantly pulled out the content by some horrible pronunciation. The man is trying to read in a dramatic fashion and has a beautiful voice, but doesn't appear to know many of the words he's reading. I almost bought the print book to see if the many reading errors are in there. Could be improved with an accompanying pdf of maps, contact information.

Great start for a series. Interesting story with enough loose ends. The characters have some depth. The mythology is intriguing, but it is clear that we're only seeing the tip of an iceberg.

While the world seems to be in love with the idea of tiny houses and minimalism, many of us simply can't purge it all and start from nothing. Yet a home with too much stuff is difficult to maintain, so where do we begin? Add in paralyzing emotional attachments and constant life challenges, and it can feel almost impossible to make real decluttering progress.

I liked the novel view on clutter. The author takes you through the entire house, applying the same simple process with real examples. I have found it helpful.

The narrator was very good; engaging and interesting. He does a good job of simplifying complex topics without making you feel that you are being talked down to, or that it is dumbed down

Historia
Last Train from Hiroshima offers listeners a stunning "you are there" time capsule, gracefully wrapped in elegant prose. Charles Pellegrino's scientific authority and close relationship with the A-bomb's survivors make his account the most gripping and authoritative ever written. At the narrative's core are eyewitness accounts of those who experienced the atomic explosions firsthand---the Japanese civilians on the ground and the American fliers in the air.

Mesmerizing
Revisado: 05-07-12
Would you consider the audio edition of The Last Train from Hiroshima to be better than the print version?
This book is so graphic in its portrayal of violence, that I don't think I would have gotten through the print version. The tempo of the reader made it possible to keep going and get through it. One step at a time.
What did you like best about this story?
As a child of the 60's. I grew up fearing "the bomb". Until I listened to this book, I was never really clear of what the effects of "the bomb" were. The book is hard to take at times. Gory, gruesome, and disgusting, it is relentless. At the same time, I couldn't "put it down". It is a triumph of presenting the reactions of normal people to a horrific situation.
Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?
I was aghast. Many times I had to stop to take a rest. An option not left to characters in the book.
Any additional comments?
My comments might sound negative, but there is a beauty in all of this horror. It is worth getting through this extremely emotional book. Whatever side of the nuclear arms question you are on, it is good to understand what you are siding for.
I thoroughly recommend this book.

Historia
Academy Award nominee Samuel L. Jackson ( Pulp Fiction) rocks this mock bedtime story, capturing a hilarious range of emotions as the voice of a father struggling to get his child to sleep. Go the F**k to Sleep is a bedtime book for parents who live in the real world, where a few snoozing kitties and cutesy rhymes don’t always send a toddler sailing blissfully off to dreamland.

I laughed so hard!
Revisado: 05-07-12
What did you love best about Go the F--k to Sleep?
I think every parent has been through the feelings expressed in this book. We just don't like to admit it in public. Samuel L. Jackson does a spectacular job of presenting the entire range of emotions that a poor overworked, underrested, but loving parent goes through.
