Good story but ending was a bit predictable
Revisado: 01-06-22
Another excellent story from SK. My wife and I predicted 2 major aspects of the ending but still enjoyed it. Narrator
demonstrated good range across diverse characters.

Historia
Amos Decker witnesses a murder just outside FBI headquarters. A man shoots a woman execution style on a crowded sidewalk, then turns the gun on himself. Even with Decker's extraordinary powers of observation and deduction, the killing is baffling. Decker and his team can find absolutely no connection between the shooter - a family man with a successful consulting business - and his victim, a schoolteacher.

Voices didn't match characters
Revisado: 10-25-18
Decent story but I didn't care for the narration. The female FBI agent sounded like a damsel in distress. The daughter of the long-time family housekeeper sounded exactly like the Defense Intelligence Agent. The star who was supposed to be a hulking ex-football player sounded like a geeky scientist.

Historia
In the first book of this brilliant series, Stephen King introduces listeners to one of his most powerful creations: Roland of Gilead, The Last Gunslinger. He is a haunting figure, a loner on a spellbinding journey into good and evil. In his desolate world, which frighteningly mirrors our own, Roland tracks The Man in Black, encounters an enticing woman named Alice, and begins a friendship with the boy from New York named Jake.

The first Stephen King book I didn't enjoy
Revisado: 07-17-18
I've listened to quite a few Stephen King books and, at a minimum, have been pleased with my purchase. This book was the exception. I was on the fence when I add this one to my cart, but I figured Mr. King would save the day with his skilled writing. Unfortunately, SK's mastery with words was not enough to save this story. I almost gave up about halfway through the book, but decided to slog through to the end in hopes of a valiant effort by the master to bring it all together. Needless to say, that didn't happen.

Disappointed Doc Ford fan
Revisado: 07-10-18
This story didn't grip me like most of the other Doc Ford novels. The narrator makes Doc seem much older than he is supposed to be.

The park manager is the hired gun of a financial syndicate that wants to develop the property, and he's prepared to do whatever it takes - but he can't figure out what to do about the teenage girl, the one the laborers believe has some sort of gift.

Least Favorite of the Doc Ford Audiobooks
Revisado: 06-22-17
Would you try another book from Randy Wayne White and/or George Guidall?
Yes, I am a fan of Randy Wayne White and the Doc Ford books. Unfortunately, George Guidall is the wrong narrator for these audiobooks. His voice for Doc's dialogues is too old sounding, and he makes Tomlinson sound like a Hispanic person.
What was the most interesting aspect of this story? The least interesting?
Most interesting was the character of Tullia. Least interesting was the whole trailer park scene.
Who would you have cast as narrator instead of George Guidall?
The narrator for the first Doc Ford audiobooks in the series was outstanding. I imagine that RWW decided he was too expensive to use for later books, but I really believe that was a mistake. That guy nailed the Tomlinson character as he is portrayed in the writing, and Doc sounded much more age appropriate and capable of the physical actions that were being described.
Was Night Vision worth the listening time?
In retrospect, I probably wouldn't have purchased this audiobook based on my listening experience, but I haven't lost faith in the Doc Ford series
Any additional comments?
Narration is so important. Don't skimp on the cost of a good narrator to save on production costs up front.

Historia
In 2009, Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band performed at the Super Bowl's halftime show. The experience was so exhilarating that Bruce decided to write about it. That's how this extraordinary autobiography began. Over the past seven years, Bruce Springsteen has privately devoted himself to writing the story of his life, bringing to this audio the same honesty, humor, and originality found in his songs.

Passionate Storyteller!
Revisado: 05-18-17
One of the great rock and roll legends describing his incredibly interesting journey. I felt great empathy for him after hearing him talk about his battles with depression. Who would have known after seeing him bring down the house at one of his shows. I'm sure he had to dig pretty deep to tell the world about those highly personal issues. His unique speaking voice really added to the experience. Long live The Boss!

Audie Award, History/Biography, 2016. On the night of July 20, 1969, our world changed forever when Neil Armstrong and Buzz Aldrin walked on the moon. Based on in-depth interviews with 23 of the 24 moon voyagers, as well as those who struggled to get the program moving, A Man on the Moon conveys every aspect of the Apollo missions with breathtaking immediacy and stunning detail.

A great takeoff followed up by a flameout
Revisado: 02-13-17
The first half of the book keeps you wanting more every time you pause it. The Apollo 13 accident is the climax of the story. Unfortunately, after that, it seems to turn into a fairly in depth geology lesson. I guess I'm just not that into rocks. Great narration throughout.

Great storyry and strong narration
Revisado: 11-03-16
I enjoyed this story and never got bored. The narrator did a nice job...especially as he read the Wireman character. My only mild complaint with the performance was that the narration for Edgar seemed almost emotionless, even during his worst emotional crisis.
