A wonderful twist!

Spark extending the large plot twist that we left off from Ashes (book 3)! We learn lots of cool details about the internals of Lightning magic and the ramifications it has for Fiona and the rest of the clan. These books just continue to get better and better and narrator Ali Dane does an amazing, and multi-lingual, job of conveying the story. Highly recommended!

A pivotal Next Step!

Storm picks up after the shock ending of Spark. With action on both sides of the globe, we again learn more about Fiona's special talents, and begin to realize that she has rare and special abilities. Really loved this book!

Wow, the best book so far!

I clearly enjoyed the first two books of the Fire Within series or I wouldn't have listened to this third book....but this is the very best book so far!

With each book author Ella M. Lee makes the series deeper and richer, adding complexity to the world building. As narrator, Ali Dane is the perfect voice for the series.

This book has a surprise ending that stunned me and took me a while to process. However, now I am even more excited for the next book in the series to be on Audible (they are already available in print). HIGHLY RECOMMENDED! ....but start with the first two books.

Wonderful sequel, and stunningly well written.

Ignited is a wonderful sequel to Fire Within and expands the world in every way. We learn more about the main characters, and a bit more about how magic works in the world. We glean a more nuanced understanding of the strengths and weaknesses of the characters (I do hope Fiona learns to trust herself more in later books!) and explore the overarching theme of the genetic family we’re born into versus the “family” we create via our strongest relationships.

Ignited has more action than Fire Within, while still preserving the dialog and inner monologues that made Fire Within so fascinating. The story arc teases critical elements that (I assume) will be addressed in the later books (which I am looking forward to reading).

Ali Dane is, once again, a wonderful narrator, perfectly inflecting her voice for all the different shades of emotion required and tackling the 3 or 4 languages that infuse Ignited. Highly recommended!

Fascinating Psychological Origin Story

I loved this book! Fire Within starts and ends with considerable action, but the bulk of the book is Fiona's "dialog" (both spoken out loud and conveyed telepathically) with her captors, as she tries to assess her evolving situation. Author Ella Lee does a masterful job of making this interesting, even when the "action" is two people in a room thinking thoughts at each other, and I zipped through the book quickly.

Although the book stands on its own as a pivotal moment in Fiona's life, it's also clearly setting up future plot lines, and ends with a cliff hanger that makes me eager for the next book. The Series feature says there are currently 6 books in the series, and I assume the others will be on Audible soonish.....so I started following Ella Lee to get notified as soon as the next one is available.

Narrator Ali Dane was wonderful, adroitly handling the snippets of Cantonese, French, and Russian, required to provide the full depth of Lee's characters. I'm now a fan and will look out for other books she's narrated.

Captivating and Wonderfully Written

I don’t read books like this, ever. So, I was quite surprised when I couldn’t stop listening.

Soul Bound is a rapid ride through a wonderfully crafted Supernatural world and I was eager to hear what would happen next. I found Lee's description of the world she created original and fascinating. Narrator Ali Dane seems a perfect match to read the story, and her various voicing and intonations give the story added depth.

The trigger warnings seem a bit overstated to me. There is no on-screen sex, although it's clear it happens off-screen. There are a few F-bombs, but they occur at times that make sense in their context.

Yes there is violence, but the worst of it happens off-screen and in a way that is essential to the story and not gratuitous. The events are deftly described JUST enough for us to see them shaping Arianna's actions and (we can assume) in the (hopeful) sequels that happen next.

Highly recommended!

.....and now I'm looking for other books by Ella M. Lee. I see Amazon has a bunch that are not here on Audible yet. Hopefully, they will be soon.
