Painful to Listen to

The presenter is awkward and stilted, making this a difficult listen. She also seems to want to get as many references to the terms "problematic," "racist," and "misogynistic" into her lectures as possible, so much so that the lectures are exhausting to listen to. She seems more focused on proving that early humans in Africa were better than those in Europe and that female early humans were better than their male counterparts than actually talking about the scientific aspects of the findings. She also goes out of her way to talk about female archaeologists as much as possible, sidelining male archaeologists as Racist, Misogynistic Old White Men. If you want to be lectured to by an SJW, then this is a good choice - but if you want actual scientific information presented without a political bias, give this a pass.

Deeply Disturbing

I originally purchased this to learn more about the 1619 Project's propaganda initiative, but I'm glad that I listened to the entire book. The author did a great job detailing multiple NYT mistakes and coverups and revealing their extremely concerning bias on many topics as well as the why behind their seemingly bizarre choices regarding certain topics and individuals.

The narrator and audio production, however, left a bit to be desired due to mispronunciations, improperly used words (though those could have been typos in the original book), poor editing (repeated phrases), and audio variations (some sections were clearly recorded later, possibly with a different microphone, as there was an echo and the audio was not the same as the rest of the performance).

Beautifully Done

Where does My Blossoming Orchid rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

This is certainly one of my favorites since it pairs a fascinating story with an excellent performer which makes for a genuinely pleasurable reading experience.

What did you like best about this story?

The characters are so fascinating! Both Jean-Claude and Bianca are such interesting people and it's great to see how they interact.

What about Marie Hélène’s performance did you like?

She has such a lovely, sensual voice that really adds to the erotic content and takes it to the next level for the listener.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

I was fascinated by the book and finished it quite quickly. I was just immediately engrossed by the story and characters and it made the hours fly by.

Any additional comments?

I definitely highly recommend this to any fan of erotica.

Fun, Light Book

This was a fun, lighthearted listen for a weekend drive. I thoroughly enjoyed every moment of Betty's letter to her friend. I found myself smiling and chuckling many times while listening to Betty and Howard's adventures. Betty's tale has a distinct Erma Bombeck quality which is quite enjoyable. I also really liked the "letter" format, which made it really feel like you were actually reading a letter from a close friend traveling abroad.

The narrator, Nicola Bryant, did an amazing job with the material. She brought Betty and Howard to life for the listener.

I highly recommend this fun, light book. It's a great, short listen that will leave you smiling.

Entertaining and Educational

I recently enjoyed another of the author's audiobooks, Sex:Woman First, and when I saw that he had another title available I just had to get it!

I loved that Confessions of a Hollywood Tantra Masseur was a compilation of so many diverse stories. There were women of all ages, shapes, and professions profiled. I was especially intrigued by the variety of sexual experiences from those who had sexual trauma, to those who needed to find themselves again after a divorce, to a fifty year old virgin. There were elements of each woman's story that every woman can identify with and take away some ideas to use in her own life.

I really enjoyed how the author told the each story in such detail (including the cat hair in his mouth at one point!) that you really felt like you were there.

Confessions of a Hollywood Tantra Masseur is the story a man who has been called by all different types of women in the Hollywood area from actors to students for a very specific goal which is a massage and stimulation of their G-spot. It is obvious that the writer did not want to write another boring “How To about female ejaculation” and still he wanted it to be a nonfiction book. The author created the story around a diary and some different advice how to have a good time in the bedroom such as massage, bath, fellatio, and more. But mostly it is a report about the stimulation of the G-spot and how the G-spot reacts under the stimulation of his fingers. The pleasure from the stimulation of that area seems to be phenomenal. It needs patience since it takes some time to get a result as often it’s a matter of connection with your partner. It is definitely an audiobook to recommend for any woman who wants to explore her sexuality further and wishes to know if there is something more than she actually knows today.

The narrator, Jewel Greenberg, did a lovely job with the book. Her friendly, empathetic voice showed a gentle respect for each woman's story. She did an amazing job of bringing each woman to life for the listener. I was very impressed with this and definitely recommend it to both men and women. Women can gain so much valuable insight into their own bodies and desires from it while men can learn more about what women need in the bedroom.

Thorough, Intelligent, Well Written Guide

This was a fascinating listen. The author comprehensively covers the female body and orgasm and details exactly what women can do together with a partner or alone to maximize their sexual experience.

The discussion of the chakras and how opening them through the various means detailed in the book enhances sexual experiences was truly eye opening. It definitely changed the way I look tantric massage and has inspired me to investigate the subject further.

I loved how the author discussed many of the experiences he had with helping women to fully embrace their sexuality. Each case was different but imparted an important lesson that can be applied in every woman's life.

I also loved that the author also discussed the male orgasm and how tantric methods apply to men as well.

I thoroughly enjoyed the entire book but I think my favorite chapter was Chapter 14: Tantra Quickies. In a time starved world this provides numerous options which each take only ten minutes.

The narrator, Marie Helene, was the perfect choice. Her sultry voice leant the perfect tone to the material and made the book a true joy to listen to.

If you're looking for a thorough, intelligent, well written guide to the female orgasm you have found it in this book. I definitely highly, highly recommend it to women and men alike.

A Clear Guide with a Powerful Message

The author has a brilliant message for young women: "When you truly believe in yourself and the power of your womanhood everyone else starts to believe it too." She did a lovely job of reinforcing this message throughout the book.

The author covers exactly what women are doing wrong in their relationships and how to fix these problems. I especially liked that she used three specific examples from her own dating life to clearly illustrate her points by first detailing the relationships and then explaining step by step exactly where the trouble points were.

I also really enjoyed the author's love letter to the most important person in her life at the end. I won't give anything away but it was very moving and I think everyone should write such a letter.

The author's no-nonsense yet friendly and compassionate attitude made you feel like you were chatting with a very wise friend.

The book was read by the author who did a very nice job. Since she clearly knew the material well she presented it exactly as she'd intended it which made it more powerful.

I definitely recommend this to those who are looking for a clear, concise guide to creating the relationship you desire.

Touching Story

Children have a tendency to blame themselves for things they are not responsible for, so when Sammy's mother dies he blames himself. The author does a brilliant job of showing how he goes from an innocent, carefree boy to a tortured soul overnight.

Sammy's journey through depression and suicidal tendencies, rebellion, and drug use is heartbreaking to listen to but it makes his ultimate decision to turn his life around that much more powerful. I found myself really rooting for Sammy and I was very pleased with the way his journey ended.

The narrator, Mimi Spillane, does an admirable job with the emotional material and handles both the young Sammy and the adult Sammy equally well. Her skillful handling of the material made it even more poignant for the listener.

I highly recommend this touching novel.

Full of Emotion

Alternate histories can sometimes come across as unbelievable but this was not the case with Jemo. Before reading the book I knew a bit about Operation Crossroads and the Baker Test but didn't really know all the details so this compelled me to look into the subject further. Having read more about it the book has become even more believable.

The author skillfully used a journal format to fully explore the fear, pain, and confusion these men experienced. It all felt horribly genuine for the listener.

The entire novella was filled with so much emotion that it was almost difficult to listen to at times. And the heartbreaking ending left me tearing up.

The narrator, Daniel Penz, did a fantastic job with the audiobook edition. His excellent performance really showcased the emotions of the sailors and their struggle and made an already moving book heart wrenching for the listener.

I highly recommend this very well done novella. It has truly changed the way I view the subject.
