I loved, loved this age gap, fake relationship super spicy romance. The witty banter, the big emotions, and the matching childhood trauma made this story and its relatable characters so good. Get ready to experience all the swoons, all the spice, and all the big emotions along with Elaina and Hunter. You’ll definitely finish the story with a happy heart. Elaina owns a bakery/cat cafe in small town Sea Breeze, Maine. She really wants a child but fears that her prospects are not good. Hunter is a billionaire venture capitalist whose mother is dying of cancer. Elaina and Hunter previously shared a very spicy no strings weekend after which he left without a goodbye. But he returns to town with a proposition. Elaina agrees to be his pregnant fake fiancée to make his dying mother happy. She gets a baby and a move to NYC where all her friends now live and he will be a totally absent father after his mother dies. Everyone wins. Until feelings make things scarier and potentially changeable. The journey to their HEA involved truth telling, leaps of faith, baggage unpacking and life course correction. This was my favorite book in this series.

C. J. Mission and Lili Valente did a phenomenal job narrating the story and characters into life with enough change of inflection, tone and cadence to voice multiple characters quite convincingly. I love listening to Lili narrate her own story.

The mistrust. The machinations. The sexual tension. The anticipation. The coincidences. The undeniable draw. The growls. The feels. I loved it all. Devlin and Zoe’s fated mates, suspenseful romance grabbed me from the very first word and kept me on the edge of my seat until the very end and then I still wanted more. The story will give you all the swoony swoons while also pulling at your heartstrings with all the emotions. Devlin is the immortal White Wolf, a lone wolf shifter who hunts and kills rogue wolves at the request of pack alphas. There are two other lone wolves in addition to him. Zoe is a graphic designer living in NYC. She has no family and lives a small but good life. They first meet when Devlin saves her from getting run over by a car. But when they keep running into each other it becomes apparent that there is something larger at play. While running and fighting for their lives and trying to solve the mystery of who is pulling the strings, there is a lot of past baggage for both of them to unpack to get to their HEA. The story was well written and included witty dialogue, three dimensional characters who grow, and a captivating storyline as shown in sweet moments, steamy scenes, dangerous situations, evil actors, henchmen, fated mates, painful pasts, magic, pack dynamics, and laughs. I am excited to read more books in this series.

Julio Maxwell and Ramona Radcliff did a phenomenal job narrating the story and characters into life with enough change of inflection, tone and cadence to voice multiple characters quite convincingly.

I loved this small town, healing romance with a side of family secrets and past trauma. It is a heartwarming and spicy story as seen through the eyes of two intense, strong, passionate and scarred characters. I was feeling some big feels with this one - wounded characters always draw me in. I just wanna reach into the story and hug them to help them heal. Mackenzie is a flight trauma surgeon for the military but when she starts suffering from burnout, she retires early and agrees to cover a family practice for 6 months in small town Benevolence. Lincoln is the fire chief in Benevolence and a confirmed bachelor. They meet during a massive pileup when she’s picking up a trauma patient with a helicopter. Then they meet again and then they’re neighbors. There is intense chemistry and attraction but Mackenzie is on an abstinence hiatus during her six month small town doctor stint. Once Lincoln volunteers to be Mackenzie’s fun coach to help with the burn out the healing and baggage unpacking begin as they roll together toward their HEA. This heartwarming story was well written and included witty dialogue, three dimensional characters, and an engaging storyline, plus the world’s cutest dog. I am sorry to see the end of this wonderful series.

I loved Tor and Dawn’s shifter-human fated mates instalove romance. It is a heartwarming, healing, and spicy story with real and relatable characters with the added twist of danger. Dawn is a human who just moved to small town Mystery, Alaska after inheriting her grandfather’s bar. Just coming out of a disastrous marriage, she is ready for a new start. Tor is a tiger shifter from Reylea. He arrived on earth through a magic portal while his world was collapsing. When Dawn is attacked outside her bar, Tor and Ryder come to her rescue. The moment Tor sees Dawn he recognizes the soul call shining from her and knows she’s his mate. But he also sees a wedding ring on her hand and believes fate has made a mistake. The journey to their HEA includes misunderstandings, danger, physiological and cultural differences, baggage unpacking, and life course realignment all while trying to combat outside forces trying to harm Dawn. The book was well written with three dimensional characters and good world building. This series is best read in order because while one couple’s story is concluded in each book, there is an overarching storyline that weaves the entire series together. I am looking forward to reading the next Reylean’s HEA.

I loved this secret crush, small town, healing romance with a side of big secrets. It is a heartwarming and spicy story as seen through the eyes of two intense, strong and passionate characters. I was feeling some big feels with this one - wounded characters always draw me in. I just wanna reach into the story and hug them to help them heal. After being physically abused for a decade, Gloria finally decides to leave her abuser. Now that he’s in jail for attempted murder and assault on her new friend (Harper from Pretend You’re Mine), she has to figure out how to be the new Gloria. Aldo is a structural engineer in small town Benevolence and in the national guard. He’s had a crush on Gloria since HS. He is about to leave on a six month deployment and before leaving asks Gloria for a date when he gets back. Life changes their trajectory when a terrible injury brings Aldo back early and Gloria might need to be the hero for both of them. I have such a soft spot for the people who are a bit uncomfortable in their skin because they don’t feel like they fit in or are worthy, like Gloria and the Aldo post-injury. So I love when they finally see their truth and they get swoon worthy HEAs. To get to there, they’ll both having to work on healing, baggage unpacking and life course correction. This heartwarming story was well written and included witty dialogue, three dimensional characters, and an engaging storyline. Note, this story parallels a large part of book one in the series so at times it felt like I had already read the book.

I loved Knox and Katherine’s shifter-human fated mates instalove romance. It is a heartwarming, healing, and spicy story with real and relatable characters with a backdrop of danger. Katherine is a human who lives in small town Mystery, Alaska where she runs the community center. Knox is a wolf shifter from Reylea. He arrived on earth along with many in his pack through a magic portal while his world was collapsing. For months, Knox has been secretly sneaking away from his pack to visit Katherine because he recognized the soul call shining from her and knew she was his mate. But when his alpha starts a fight with the peaceful tribe of Reylean shifters, Knox is severely hurt and ends up on Katherine’s doorstep. Now he just needs to convince her to leave the only home she’s ever known with him before the other Reyleans discover him and kill him. The journey to their HEA includes danger, the threat of death, physiological and cultural differences, baggage unpacking, and life course realignment. The book was well written with three dimensional characters and good world building. This series is best read in order because while one couple’s story is concluded in each book, there is an overarching storyline that weaves the entire series together. I loved, loved, loved Luke and Melanie’s second chance small town romantic suspense tale. The story had the perfect blend of sweet moments, spice, laughs, supportive friends and family, painful pasts, deep emotions, danger, suspense, and all the happy heart squeezing love. The slow ratcheting up of the tension that accompanies the hints and glimpses of the bad guy was delicious perfection. And hoo boy was he creepy. But don’t worry, the suspense was well balanced with the romance and the Tilikum small town goodness. Add in the chapters from a third POV to give us information about the bad guy without the MCs knowing things yet and it created a wonderful cocktail of awesomeness. Luke owns his own auto restoration shop in small town Tilikum. He has a good life but feels unsettled like something is missing. Melanie is a voice actress who has recently moved back home to Tilikum after her divorce. Luke and Melanie were HS sweethearts who broke up for reasons. Melanie is a spicy nice hot mess and Luke is a growly cinnamon roll with a bit of an adrenaline addiction. When Luke and Melanie run into each other, the sparks just leap off the page. The angry smexy banter paired with their internal monologues before they both get out of the way of their inevitable HEA was perfectly done. I was immediately caught up in the eye rolling ridiculousness of when will they which meant frantic page turning because I was equally desperate to finish the goodness of the story as I was to make it last. As always with this author, the story was well written and included engaging dialogue, three dimensional characters who grow, and a captivating storyline. I cannot wait to read which Haven brother falls next especially since there are only two left.

The narrators were perfect for this story. Erin Mallon and Marcio Catalano did a phenomenal job narrating the story and characters into life with enough change of inflection, tone and cadence to voice multiple characters quite convincingly. And Robert Hatchett was such a perfect creepy Roswell. I really love the added dimension listening brings to an already phenomenal story.

I loved Ava and Ryder’s star crossed lovers fated mates shifter instalove story. It is a heartwarming and spicy story with real and relatable characters. Ava is a bear shifter from Reylea. She and her brother arrived on earth through a magic portal while her world was collapsing. Ryder is a wolf shifter from Rylea where wolves do not mix with the other tribes and usually stay in beast form. His pack also came through the portal. The instant Ava and Ryder see each other, they recognize the soul call shining and know they’re fated mates. To get to their HEA they’ll need to deal with physiological and tribal differences, baggage unpacking, and life course realignment. The book was well written with three dimensional characters and good world building. While this novella could be read as a stand alone, you will get more out of the story if you’ve read the prior book in the series first. I am excited to read the next Reylean’s HEA.

I loved Tara and Owen’s shifter-human fated mates instalove suspense story. It is a heartwarming and spicy story with real and relatable characters with a backdrop of danger. Tara is a human who lives in small town Mystery, Alaska. Owen is a bear shifter from Reylea. He arrived on earth through a magic portal while his world was collapsing. He was an outcast on Rylea for losing his tribe and he is one in Mystery too. The instant he sees Tara, Owen recognizes the soul call shining from her and knows she’s his mate. But Owen is forbidden from having a mate based on Rylan customs but when a pack of wolf shifters threaten Tara, he cannot stay away. The journey to their HEA includes danger, the threat of death, physiological and cultural differences, baggage unpacking, and life course realignment. The book was well written with three dimensional characters and good world building. I am excited to read the next Reylean’s HEA.

I loved this opposites attract, fake relationship, small town, healing romance with a side of big secrets. It is a heartwarming and spicy story as seen through the eyes of two intense, strong and passionate characters. I was feeling some big feels with this one - wounded characters always draw me in. I just wanna reach into the story and hug them to help them heal. Harper is a beautiful chaotic mess. When she runs from her cheating boyfriend, she unfortunately lacks a plan, her purse, and her phone when she runs out of gas in small town Benevolence. Luke co-owns a construction business in Benevolence and is in the National Guard. His life is all carefully controlled plans and structure. When Harper stumbles into Luke’s life she agrees to be his fake girlfriend and office manager for a month until he’s deployed. Of course, soon super charged attraction and big feelings start to try to push through the fake part of their relationship. To get to their HEA, they’ll have to take some big leaps of faith while doing major baggage unpacking. These are my favorite kind of angsty moments - screw up because of your past and then fix it out of hope for your future. This heartwarming story was well written and included witty dialogue, three dimensional characters, and an engaging storyline. Note, while this is dual POV, a large portion of the story takes place while Luke is deployed so the majority of the story is told from Harper’s POV only. 4.5 stars.
