Not my cup of tea, but not bad.
Revisado: 12-15-20
I received this book for free for my honest review. I don't usually read books in this genre, but I decided to give it a shot. It didn't keep my attention very well. This just isn't my kind of book, but I think it's a good book.

I adore this book!
Revisado: 01-27-20
I loved it so much, I've listened to it twice. The story makes you feel warm and fuzzy at the end, which is what I was looking for. The book also wasn't overtly sexual, which I really enjoyed. It's perfect for anyone looking for a sweet romance that isn't saturated in sexual content.

Historia
In 1912, scientist Marie Curie spent two months on the British seaside at the home of Hertha Ayrton, an accomplished mathematician, inventor, and suffragette. At the time, Curie was in the throes of a scandal in France over her affair with Paul Langevin, which threatened to overshadow the accomplishment of her second Nobel Prize. Performed by Kate Mulgrew and Francesca Faridany at the Minetta Lane Theatre, this play by Lauren Gunderson is an ode to two remarkable women.

Performance kept my attention.
Revisado: 01-27-20
I really enjoyed the performance of this, but the story wasn't my favorite. Kate and Francesca really brought it to life. But I got bored partway through with the story. It just wasn't my cup of tea.

Pleasantly surprised
Revisado: 12-31-19
I didn't think I would love this story as much as I did. It's predictable, but it sucks you in. Being a geek girl myself, it's everything I'd want in a geek love story. I finished it in two days. My only real complaint is there are times where the narrator repeats a sentence twice. I'm assuming this is an editing issue, but there were 4 or 5 times throughout where it happened. Otherwise, the performances were incredible.

I relate this book to a Hallmark movie. You can already guess how it's gonna end, but it doesn't make you enjoy it any less. I really enjoyed the narration for this book. About half way through, I knew it would have a happy ending but I was enjoying the story so much I kept listening. It's a really sweet story.

”When I was little I believed in Jesus and Santa, spontaneous combustion, and the Loch Ness Monster. Now I believe in science, statistics, and antibiotics.” So says 17-year-old Zac Meier during a long, grueling leukemia treatment in Perth, Australia. A loud blast of Lady Gaga alerts him to the presence of Mia, the angry, not-at-all-stoic cancer patient in the room next door. Once released, the two near-strangers can't forget each other, even as they desperately try to resume normal lives.

Cute story
Revisado: 08-11-19
This is a cute story. I personally loved the narration. The pacing was perfect. I didn't get confused throughout the book. Would have rated the story higher, but I think the sick kids storyline has been played out a lot. It was very predictable. It's great if you're wanting something somewhat mindless to listen to.

Historia
In 1914, the war which was to have been wrapped up by Christmas had - in reality - only just begun, as all sides entrenched themselves deeper into the Great War. Christmas Eve, 1914 follows one company of British officers as they rotate forward to spend their Christmas on the front lines, a mere 80 yards from the German guns. Upper- and working-class men and boys are thrown together into one trench and struggle to survive.

I've heard so much about Taylor Jenkins Reid. So when I saw this title in Kindle Unlimited, I figured I'd give it a shot. I'm hooked. The story was so good. I honestly wanted it to be longer. I listened to it all at once and cried at the end. It was a little predictable, but I liked that about it. A great quick listen if you love romance.
