Detailed research, boring and skewed writing

I'm a huge fan of Kubrick's movies, and the book does give a detailed history of his life and movies. That being said, this book is incredibly clinical and boring. Also, they put such an extreme focus on the fact that he is Jewish, it mentions his Jewish heritage practically every other sentence. It gives the impression that the writers are Jewish elitists. It seems to put an unnecessary emphasis on his heritage, rather than his genius filmmaking and dark humor.

interesting people interviewed

interesting people and perspectives, but it is basically the same interview repeated to different people throughout the book. The reader is also strangely robotic in the delivery, sounds like it is read by a computer.

good history, narration was monotone
