I'm just starting out as a fan of Lovecraft. As far as I know I've read about half of his fictional works. This was an excellent recording and narration and I've listened 3 times already.
The story is not one of my favorites but it is nevertheless effective and introduces the reader to some themes Lovecraft likes to play with(Yog Sothoth, artificial animation/consciousness, alien lifeforms). As a New Englander who went to college on the street where Lovecraft lived in Providence, I can say he certainly nails the atmospheres of ominous gloom which pervade some of the region's settings, and his prose puts other science fiction writers like hg wells to shame in my humble view.

There were points in this narrative when I was laughing hysterically, and some when I was disgusted and filled with utter pity for our sad little man, Molloy. Beckett is unlike anybody I can think of: hilarious, disturbing, and somehow smooth all the while. I'll definitely be listening again and again to this one.
The narrator Barrett does an excellent job in this and other recordings.

I picked up this for under 2 bucks because I'm a huge Charles Dickens reader. I was pleasantly surprised to find something which was a break from his long works without missing any of his wit and skill. I listened to it three straight times. It was well worth it.
Nice narration as well.

This book is read very well. It has tracks for every canto so you can skip easily back to any verse. There are no explanations between cantos, just the translations form this masterful story.
