this book is aimed toward Missouri gardeners for their fall changeover from outdoor to indoor gardening. there is a lot of very useful information regarding pests and problems with house plants and how to solve them. as a confirmed plant killer, this book gave me hope that I can actually succeed in making house plants survive and possibly even thrive.

Well written intro to EMDR
Revisado: 10-19-17
Francine Shapiro, PhD has written a good book to describe how EMDR works to assist a person's brain to process traumatic incidents, and when a person should seek out professional help. This is a really helpful, interesting book, and I highly recommend it.

Historia
Unlike most folks, Hannah Westley never outgrew her childhood sense of wonder. Her first twenty years on the farm were the beginning of a life filled with adventure. Her simple childhood was rich with experiences that offer a glimpse into a time when family values had real meaning. The maps in the one-room Mine Bank School were her Bible and by the eighth grade she had read all of the books in the library.

Tales of the Past Shared
Revisado: 06-28-17
I was given a copy of the book in exchange for an honest review . Hannah Cook Westley wrote stories of her childhood and young adult life on a rural farm in Pennsylvania from the 1930s through 1950. She brings the past to life vividly. The narrator, Linda Velwest, does an excellent job. I enjoyed listening and believe listeners of all ages will be charmed and educated by this book.

Historia
Warrior faery princes can be very stubborn. Especially when they possess your body. Fourteen-year-old Finn just wants to keep his little sister out of Child Protective Services - an epic challenge with their parentally-missing-in-action dad moving them to England, near the famous Stonehenge rocks. Warrior faery Prince Zaneyr just wants to escape his father's reckless plan to repair the Rift - a catastrophe that ripped the faery realm from Earth 4,000 years ago and set it adrift in an alternate, timeless dimension.

Great Adventure Story!
Revisado: 05-19-17
This book was gifted to me in exchange for an honest review. I enjoyed the book because it was not a typical dystopian novel. The fairies and humans were well defined. The characters grew and changed through the course of the story. The narrator was excellent, and brought the characters to life.

Margaret Mohrmann has devoted most of her professional life to caring for children, and in Attending Children she shares the remarkable education those children and their families have given her. Her narratives are both painful and hopeful, tragic and funny, full of remarkable characters and sometimes bizarre families.

I was given a copy of the book in exchange for an honest review. Wow, this book is excellent. The author tells the listener about her experience as a pediatrician over several decades. She describes her reasons for writing this book and each story tells both about the patient and how she matured as a doctor as a result of her interactions with patients and families, and her mistakes. Her honesty and self-awareness made me more involved in the book. I listened while driving, and practically had to pull over because I was too emotional. I was disappointed when the book ended. I wanted to hear more. I recommend both author and narrator. Excellent book and performance.

It was not my favorite audiobook
Revisado: 04-28-17
I was given a copy of the book in exchange for a an honest review. I expected to really enjoy the book. Unfortunately the dialogue was stilted and sounded like the author is not a native English speaker. The formality of the characters' words pulled me from the storyline frequently and many words used seemed as though they were pulled from the thesaurus. The plot was good, and with better editing, the dialogue could be also. When speaking, most people use contractions but the book's characters rarely do.

Mistaken address leads to danger and love
Revisado: 04-07-17
I was given a copy of this audiobook in exchange for an honest review.
The book was interesting, action filled, and I enjoyed it. However, when people are missing, it felt unlikely that the person looking for him/them would spend so much time chasing a relationship with an outsider. The secondary characters were gritty and genuine, yet they accepted the hero's distraction with jokes. The narrator was good, and managed to portray the various characters with distinct voices, so that the listener wasn't left wondering who was speaking. I am probably going to give this series one more chance, and hope that the plot issues don't continue.

Scolding the cat is useless
Revisado: 04-03-17
Nora is asked to solve a mystery while catering an event for the museum, and trying to figure out what happened to her cat's former owner. The events are a tangle, yet Nora manages to straighten them out. Her cat, Nick, is intelligent and helps Nora, yet she frequently scolds him when he gives her clues. A cat who knows what Scrabble tiles are for, is worthy of praise.
