Lifeless Goodbye
Revisado: 07-21-18
So disappointing was this story that I didn't bother listening to the ending. Predictable and slow. I usually love the Raymond Chandler stories with Philip Marlowe so I was surprised and bored. I will think again before ordering another.

My most disappointing Christmas gift
Revisado: 12-10-17
What disappointed you about Gather ‘Round the Sound?
The content was boring except the Coelho story, which I also felt I had heard before. I did not find the Dickens story very holidayish except maybe for Halloween. The overly cheery narrator and improv was sickly sweet. I had to turn it off.
What could the authors have done to make this a more enjoyable book for you?
Make better choices for the stories. I preferred it when you sent us ONE thoughtful story.
What didn’t you like about the narrators’s performance?
She sounded overly sweet and cheery, and it made it condescending to me as an audience.
What reaction did this book spark in you? Anger, sadness, disappointment?
Major Disappointment--so I reminded myself that it was free.
Any additional comments?
Thanks for the thought. Please reconsider your well-read adult Audible audience before trying this again.

Narrators gravely voice kills the joy
Revisado: 06-12-12
Would you recommend this book to a friend? Why or why not?
This story, unpublished during Mickey Spillane's lifetime is enjoyable...if you like this kind of drama.
What didn’t you like about Stacy Keach’s performance?
His gravely monotone voice that sounds like he smoked one too many cigarettes in his lifetime is really frustrating and difficult to listen to. I kept wanting to clear my throat or take a drink of water. It also made it difficult to follow who was speaking.

Historia
Inspector Singh is back, but this time on secondment to Bali. A bomb has exploded and Singh has been sent to help with anti-terrorism efforts. But there's a slight problem: he knows squat about hunting terrorists. He's much better suited to solving murder! So when a body is discovered in the wreckage, killed by a bullet before the bomb went off, Singh should be the one to find the answers - especially with the help of a wily Australian copper by his side.

Would you listen to A Bali Conspiracy Most Foul again? Why?
I rarely listen to a story twice, but A Bali Conspiracy Most Foul is well narrated with funny and believable dialogue that keeps you listening to the find out what will happen next.
Did the plot keep you on the edge of your seat? How?
I definitely wanted to know how the story would end, but it was the story itself, the location and the culture of Bali described that kept me intrigued.
Which character – as performed by Jonathan Keeble – was your favorite?
Inspector Singh of course! He is someone I'd love to meet!
Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?
It is too long to listen in one sitting, but I never wanted to stay away for long.
Any additional comments?
I enjoyed the entire Inspector Singh series, 1, 2 and 3. This title was not my favorite, as I felt it was a bit trite about Muslim bombers and the role of women in a Muslim society, but I still enjoyed the mystery and how it played out.
