Historia
I’ve been in this life for fifty years, been trying to work out its riddle for forty-two, and been keeping diaries of clues to that riddle for the last thirty-five. Notes about successes and failures, joys and sorrows, things that made me marvel, and things that made me laugh out loud. How to be fair. How to have less stress. How to have fun. How to hurt people less. How to get hurt less. How to be a good man. How to have meaning in life. How to be more me. Recently, I worked up the courage to sit down with those diaries.

Historia
Laura was in her early twenties and directionless when she quit her job to backpack in Bolivia. Fate landed her at a wildlife sanctuary on the edge of the Amazon jungle where she was assigned to a beautiful and complex puma named Wayra. Wide-eyed, inexperienced, and comically terrified, Laura made the scrappy, make-do camp her home. And in Wayra, she made a friend for life.

Amazing story and performance
Revisado: 02-25-23
I loved listening to her voice. Her vivid descriptions bring the pages to life and really work the imagination. She's real and you feel the emotions she expresses in the book. She does an excellent job of helping to reader understand a bit more about issues facing the jungle. I would highly recommend reading it.

Historia
There may be no tidy solutions or pithy answers to life’s big challenges, but Michelle Obama believes that we can all locate and lean on a set of tools to help us better navigate change and remain steady within flux. In The Light We Carry, she opens a frank and honest dialogue with listeners, considering the questions many of us wrestle with: How do we build enduring and honest relationships? How can we discover strength and community inside our differences? What tools do we use to address feelings of self-doubt or helplessness? What do we do when it all starts to feel like too much?

Good Advice -Loved it
Revisado: 02-20-23
You get snippets of her autobiography throughout the book but as they relate to her advice on maneuvering hard times. As a minority, she's relatable and real. She gives advice by using her life experiences so it feels like a an older or more experienced friend is speaking with you. She narrorates a bit like a poetry slam which I feel, does a nice job of drawing attention to certain ideas and helps keep you engaged.I haven't read Becoming but I'll most likely purchase it now. I would recommend this audiobook.

Historia
In this award-winning Audible Studios production, Trevor Noah tells his wild coming-of-age tale during the twilight of apartheid in South Africa. It’s a story that begins with his mother throwing him from a moving van to save him from a potentially fatal dispute with gangsters, then follows the budding comedian’s path to self-discovery through episodes both poignant and comical.

Fantastic Story
Revisado: 11-01-20
Trevor does an excellent job of storytelling. South African culture, the languages, struggles, apartheid, and how he maneuvers society was interesting and easy to listen to. Well worth the buy. I've got a young adults version now for my classroom.

Well written detailed accounts of lost history
Revisado: 07-03-20
This book was excellent, disturbing, sad, and sparked my curiosity anew after every chapter. It's a must read for every American and especially history teachers. It follows the life of an African slave, the state of Alabama, and the hidden auttocities of slavery mostly ignored and in different forms. The epilogue follows up with some of the authors personal stories as he investigates the issue, his reasoning behind writing the book, and some of the current descendants and businesses from slavery.
