This book was good in spite of the language that was used throughout the book but I am able to look past that because Katie Cotugno does a really good job of making you feel like you are acually staying an August House with all of the characters. I will be getting the next book and I'm excited to see what Linden and holiday get up to.

Historia
Millions of people climb the grand marble staircase to visit the Metropolitan Museum of Art every year. But only a select few have unrestricted access to every nook and cranny. They’re the guards who roam unobtrusively in dark blue suits, keeping a watchful eye on the two million square foot treasure house. Caught up in his glamourous fledgling career at The New Yorker, Patrick Bringley never thought that he’d be one of them.

Simplicity at its finest

As soon as I picked this book up and Barns and noble down here in Fl, I knew I had to get it. I loved how it sucked you in to Patrick Bringley's world and his time as a guard at the Metropolitan museum of Art in New York. I also loved the subtle artworks scattered throughout the book, it made it that more enjoyable. If you are someone that loves Art but also loves bibliography then this book is definitely for you.

First I want to say that this book was a fantastic read. I loved how some stories were short and others were long. I also loved how all the stories incorporated different cultures, but my most favorite thing about this book is how Rick Riordan and the other amazing writers came together to create a one of a kind book.

Historia
Summer 1940: Hedy Bercu fled Vienna two years ago. Now she watches the skies over Jersey for German planes, convinced that an invasion is imminent. When it finally comes, there is no counterattack from Allied forces - the Channel Islands are simply not worth defending. Most islanders and occupying forces settle into an uneasy coexistence, but for Hedy, the situation is perilously different. For Hedy is Jewish — a fact that could mean deportation, or worse.

A great story of hope in the time of war
Revisado: 07-29-24
I usually don't like ww2 books that go into the evil history of the concentration camps and nazi's but I did enjoy this one and how they wove those details into the story.

The pirate Bride
Revisado: 07-02-24
This book is a good book for anyone looking for a short chapter book. With 25 chapters split into 2 sections it tells the story of a young girl and a pirate. It is slowly read so you may want to speed it up but other than that, if you want a romance book with a bit of pirate and high seas thrown in, this book is for you.

This was a good book. I did have to speed it up to get through it but aside from that it was a good book. I will be giving this book away to someone who would like to read it and learn about trafficking and how to stop it.

The clockmakers's wife. A tale of two different times
Revisado: 05-01-24
I enjoyed The Clockmakers's Wife. it was a really good read and I enjoyed how it switched back and forth between the two time periods because you really got a feel for what it was like living in the 1940s during the war. The only dislike that I had was that it was read too slow so i did have to speed it up just a bit but other than that it was a great read.
