Historia
Once described by The Washington Post as "the most interesting mayor you've never heard of", Pete Buttigieg, the 36-year-old Democratic mayor of South Bend, Indiana, has improbably emerged as one of the nation's most visionary politicians. First elected in 2011, Buttigieg left a successful business career to move back to his hometown, previously tagged by Newsweek as a "dying city", and transformed it into a shining model of urban reinvention.

A feel-good book
Revisado: 11-26-19
This book is inspiring and gives me hope. It gives me hope that there are still people of noble purpose, who are willing to challenge corruption and greed. It gives me hope that there are still enough people with the intelligence to choose the book and recognize in Buttigieg a remarkable genius who is willing to use his gift for the good of our country and he planet. Aside from politics, the book is interesting and well written and can stand alone as a sweet story of a young man who understands true values in life.

Historia
Pete Banning was Clanton's favorite son, a returning war hero, the patriarch of a prominent family, a farmer, a father, a neighbor, and a faithful member of the Methodist church. Then one cool October morning in 1946, he rose early, drove into town, walked into the church, and calmly shot and killed the Reverend Dexter Bell.

Insults reader's intelligence
Revisado: 01-29-19
I felt cheated with this book -cheated of the cost of the book and of my time, although I did not finish it. Through his books, Grisham has often been a voice for the poor and misrepresented in our Country. Now he has thrown out a book of concocted half-characters with a strange and moribund plot that borders on fantasy. Grisham used to be very capable of writing an entertaining book with a message; this isn't it. He has offered a sappy book of unbelievable characters and an impossible plot. The Arthur has either lost his way or become a con man himself, slopping out a book using the gimmick of his name.

Too pedantic with a weak plot
Revisado: 09-22-16
I finished reading the book even though I felt there was way too much conversational drivel, between altogether weak characters. Having lived in the South during that era, I find the story development unconvincing. Within the story there were the constant undertones of Jim Crow that became tiresome.

Historia
One of the leaders and founders of Texas, Sam Houston confronted all of the prevailing issues of his day. Adopted into a Native American tribe, he fought for fair treatment of Indians in the halls of Congress. Faced with the dissolution of the Union during the Civil War, he tried to lead Texas away from secession. A frontiersman, soldier, and patriot, Houston's influence can be felt well beyond the borders of the Lone Star State.

Second grade reading
Revisado: 12-30-12
What could have made this a 4 or 5-star listening experience for you?
when I say second grade reading, the reader reads in a pedantic manner reminescent of sitting in a class room. I think the content might be interesting; but I couldn't stand the audio style.
