But eventually, troubled people come to Precious with a variety of concerns. Potentially philandering husbands, seemingly schizophrenic doctors, and a missing boy who may have been killed by witch doctors all compel Precious to roam about in her tiny van, searching for clues.

Wonderful writing, expertly narrated

The writing in this book is like a cool breeze on a hot day…gentle, refreshing, and unexpected. I thoroughly enjoyed the characters, and was fascinated by the culture, history, and tender love of Africa and Botswana that is woven throughout the story. The cases that Ma Ramotswe solves are so clever! The narrator did an excellent job of bringing the story to life. But most of all, the writing was beautiful. I’ve never read a book like this before, but now I’m hooked on this series!

amazing book but narration is awful

Great content, poor narration

Kathy Koch has a wonderful perspective on parenting and educating children. I love all the advice she gave in the first quarter of the book! But that's as far as I got in listening to it. I was unable to stand the narration for more than 5 minutes at a time because it's so monotone. I will read a paper copy of this book to get the great content instead.
