Wow... who'd have thought the Monkees could have had such an impact!
Revisado: 07-14-24
Folks may dismiss The Monkees, but who would have thought that their concerts would impact the big rock concerts as we now know it?

Evil Triumphs When Good Men Do Nothing
Revisado: 01-05-24
Told from the perspective of three Parisian women during post-WW1 through post-WW2. This book addresses what the question of what is a collaborator and what it means to try to survive in Nazi-occupied Paris. War, and the people living through it, is complicated.
I'm glad that the author finally chose to address the Nazi work camps... those hidden camps that processed goods stolen from the houses of the "deported" undesirables for purchase by wealthy Nazis... those who survived who chose not to publicize their maltreatment in the shadow of the more horrific death camps.

Lovely deep dive into the world of Avatar

Very much enjoying the insight and availability of the folks who created and built ATLA. Was hesitant about starting Korra, but now I'm really interested.

Sorting the Confusion
Revisado: 10-20-23
I needed something to help me clarify all the characters and events in the first two books. I didn't feel I could continue Nona until I got Books 1 and 2 sorted. This podcast validates the complexity and deep world building of the series.

Good story, but minor irritatoons
Revisado: 07-16-21
Really entertaining story. My main issue is stuff someone from Hawaii would catch.
My main complaint is the she pronounces "Mano" as "min-NOE"

Revisado: 07-08-21
Really loved the characters, and had a difficult time putting it down. However, the audiobook has a tendency to stop frequently because of technical errors... very annoying

Nice explanation of Coriolanus Snow
Revisado: 11-21-20
It's a decent story of early Panem from the Capitol's point of view. Eighteen year old Coriolanus Snow is an angry and entitled little s#!t, which seems to annoy a lot of readers. But there are some nice bits that tie in why Snow hates Katniss so deeply... although it occasionally seems a bit forced.
The performance is decent, although it is annoying that a book that relies heavily on music didn't get someone who could sing.
