Historia
Nothing says happy birthday like catching your husband in a compromising position with his boss. His male boss. Why, hello, midlife crisis. I’m starting over, but this time I’m doing it right. Or at least I’m doing what I want. Taking the day off from work to hang out poolside? Yup. Do I leave the swimsuit in my house? Sure. Does my very hot, 20-something pool boy happen to catch me naked? Oh, yeah, he does. And he likes what he sees…a lot. My best friend keeps telling me to have a fling and get back out there. But I’m not so sure she meant for me to do it with her son.

Love it! Great Chemistry!
Revisado: 04-21-25
Love the reverse age gap (a refreshing take) and the chemistry between the M and F in their romantic interactions and steamy scenes - which are GREAT, BTW.
One of my favorites.

The story is great, but the narrator almost kills it
Revisado: 04-20-25
First of all, duets are the way to go. But let's not hold on to that.
Having just a female narrator do the whole book is a turn off for me: she has to be really good to pull it off. It's not the case here.
She has a beautiful, pleasant voice.
But her male voice is almost the same as her female, and sometimes it's hard to know at first who's speaking.
The worst part, however, is that she narrates fun, exciting, sexy and steamy, emotional parts the very same way: as if she were discussing the latest fashion trend - without much excitement, that is. Same intonation and cadence.
It kills the buzz. I'm not going to listen to the next books in the series because of that.

Historia
I met him, the man of my dreams. On the worst day of my life. Catching my boyfriend out was bad. Coming out of the club in a daze, I stumbled upon a situation which was worse. Much worse. And it would have been deadly, too. If he wasn’t there to save me. My unsuspecting hero. He was rugged, wild, and powerful. The way he looked at me set me on fire.

Story is better than I thought it would be. Male narrator is great. Female narrator kind of kills it.
Revisado: 03-17-25
There is a huge difference between acting and being theatrical. Good acting takes you into the story, you forget there are narrators. Being theatrical reminds you that someone is performing - and not doing a great job, if you're thinking about it.
Unfortunately, the later is the case for the female narrator. She is so over the top at times she pretty much ruins the story.
The male narrator is very good and has a great voice.
The story surprised me: I didn't think it would fare well but it turned out a lot better than I expected.
Great spicy scenes!!!

Historia
The last person Griffin Shipley expects to find stuck in a ditch on his Vermont country road is his ex-hookup. Five years ago, they’d shared a couple of steamy nights together. But that was a lifetime ago. At 27, Griff is now the accidental patriarch of his family farm. Even his enormous shoulders feel the strain of supporting his mother, three siblings, and a dotty grandfather. He doesn’t have time for the sorority girl who’s shown up expecting to buy his harvest at half price.

So sweet, and down to earth, all with hot chemistry!!!
Revisado: 02-15-25
This was my first book by Sarina Owen (definitelynot the last), and it goes to my Favorites collection.
The characters were so real, so down to earth. No stupide drama, Just real life throwing challenges at true love, people who are taken by surprise but learn how precious and rare that is, and figure it out in time not to let it escape through their fingers.
Funny and light moments, GREAT chemistry between the main couple, very nicely written.
I caught myself laughing at times, swooning at others, and even emotional sometimes.
Impossible not to fall in love with main male character. Loved his narrato, too!

Historia
Adjusting to life in peacetime isn’t easy for Major Duncan McCameron. Escorting a lady on her journey north seems like the perfect chance to give him some much-needed purpose. That is, until he learns the woman in question is the beautiful, bold, reckless Lady Farris. She makes his head spin, and being alone together will surely end in disaster. Beatrice, the dowager countess of Farris, is finally free of a stifling marriage, and she has no plans to shackle herself to any other man.

Terrible narration for male characters
Revisado: 02-06-25
The story is cute and fun at many parts - even thought it seems a very modern background clipped onto the 1800's.
The romance and steamy scenes are great and the characters have great chemistry.
But the narrator kills the main make character. He sounds like an eccentric, if not grumpy, old man! In audio books the narration is as important as the story - one either feeds or kills the other. And she killed half of the fun for me...
Also, other male characters would sound like a woman, so it could be confusing to tell who was speaking... too bad...
The whole thing could have been so much better with the right narration...

So good...
Revisado: 01-06-25
I don't know why this book hasn't gotten higher reviews.
The story is cute, the characters have great chemistry, the steamy parts are great, and the HEA ending doesn't come after one of the two has a crisis of stupidity and abruptly comes to their senses - as so commonly happens in books like these.
The only thing not great is the whole female narration. She's great as a performer, really funny many times, and she has a great voice. She just has a harder time giving different voices for male characters. Sometimes, it's even hard to understand that the line is by a male, at first.
If we had a male narrator (especially in a duet, as I wish all books were) it would have brought the whole thing to life.
Other than that, just great!

I usually go over self-help books with a grain of salt - I like to do my own thinking and reasoning.
At the same time, I keep myself open and humble to learn.
I'm glad I did.
Mathew tends to be prolific at times, and I don't see eye to eye with some things he said, but this guy has a lot of wisdom in his words.
The book opened my eyes to some very important matters and ways of seeing things. I did learn important lessons.
I definitely recommend!!!
