Historia
West Country beauty Hannah Heywood may be quiet with fashionable strangers, but when it comes to animals in need, she has no trouble finding her voice. Newly arrived in Bath for her very first season, all she desires is to find one like-minded gentleman. A man of warmth and compassion, as sensitive to animals as he is to people. But if such a man exists, he dare not approach her. Not with the tall, blond, and menacing Viscount St. Clare standing in the way.

Pretty sequel
Revisado: 08-12-24
The story was a simple one and
the characters did not have a lot of depth. On the other hand it was nice to see how the original characters from books With more substance and complexity had developed (“The Work of Art “and “Gentleman Jim”). All in all a pleasant and relatively quick read.

Historia
Miss Euphemia Fleet, on her way to join her dear Felicity and her husband, is still fearing that she may be a burden to them. She meets Baron Balfour on the road, and after an accident to her only gown, finds out that she resembles his dead wife in stature when he offers her a change of clothes. But the shock of seeing Euphemia in the gown brings on an old illness, and she is forced by her kindly nature to stay with him, though his loud voice and blunt conversation terrifies her. Something stirs in Euphemia as they become acquainted....

Nice but...
Revisado: 07-08-20
Loved the story, even though there were some events that seemed unlikely. Euphemia getting into a carriage with a total stranger and not being concerned about it....not even for a second ? And then being “conned” into spending the night with this same stranger, Baron or not, with only his employee as a chaperone ? No concerns? Hmmm.
My second issue is the cost for a 2 hour “novella.” This take should either be part of an anthology or provided “free” through Escape.

Historia
Sophie Appersett is quite willing to marry outside of her class to ensure the survival of her family. But the darkly handsome Mr. Edward Sharpe is no run-of-the-mill London merchant. He's grim and silent. A man of little emotion - or perhaps no emotion at all. After two months of courtship, she's ready to put an end to things. But severing ties with her taciturn suitor isn't as straightforward as Sophie envisioned.

Lovely story. Mimi Mathews keeps you in period, having thoroughly researched the customs and speech of the era. Alex Wyndham’s performance enhances the experience by making Ms. Matthews’s characters through his amazing voice and flawless interpretation.

Great writing, believable and interesting characters, wonderful dialogue. Also great execution. Sarah Ladd and Jude Mason do not disappoint. One of my most enjoyable Regency reads to date.
