Compelling story with all kinds of complex characters. My only complaint is that some of these characters allow themselves to be abused and refuse to confront it. Even after their arc is complete.

Better than the second book… just enough for me to keep going.

I was about to give up on this series, but this one was better than the last. There were fewer homophonic slurs in this volume of the story, and I thought the jokes were more well written- even though they’re mainly dick and fart jokes still. I’ll keep listening. For now.

I’m into the story, but not the writing.

Like a lot of other comments, I think the “humor” in this series is juvenile - especially all of the homophobic slurs - however the story is compelling enough to make me want to keep listening. It’s a bit like Tiger King to me, just a train wreck that you can’t look away from. Oh and it seems like every book in this series is going to end with no resolution, demanding another sequel. Lazy writing, but I’m such a D&D nerd that I’m into the story.

Chuck Wendig brought back Holace Copper for *invasive*, but no other novels with Chance or any other of the great characters in this novel. I just feel like we’re all missing out on a bunch of great stories.
