Historia
As they do each June, the Foxes have driven the winding roads of Appalachia to drop off their children for a two-week stay at their grandmother’s. Here, twelve-year-old Thea can run free and breathe in the smell of pine. But as her parents head back to suburban Virginia, they have no idea they’re about to cross paths with a ticking time bomb. Back in Kentucky, Thea and her grandmother Lucy both awaken from the same nightmare. And though the two have never discussed the special kind of sight they share, they know as soon as their tearful eyes meet that something terrible has happened.

A reading marathon
Revisado: 09-11-24
By chapter 10 you wonder what can happen now? Chapter 15..is there still a story here? Chapter 20 this is getting old. This perfect everything. Wanna make dinner oh here’s fresh lemonade, homemade butter, the best fried chicken, fresh eggs. We make everything and it’s all so beautiful. I’ve had my fill. I took a leap on this kind reading plot but all of it together? the mind reading was just too far fetched for me as well. I wouldn’t have finished it if I hadn’t paid for it. The least of the Nora Ron
Bert’s books I’ve always liked. January Labor is always solid.

Historia
In 1954, in a remote South American village, a four-year-old girl was abducted and then abandoned deep in the Colombian rainforest. So begins the incredible true story of Marina Chapman, who went on to spend several years alone in the jungle, her only family a troop of capuchin monkeys. Using instinct to guide her, she copied everything they did and soon learned to fend for herself. At around 10 years old, a completely feral Marina was returned to civilisation by hunters, who sold her as a slave to a brothel. Beaten daily and groomed to be a prostitute, she escaped - to live the perilous existence of a Colombian city street kid.

Unbelievable!
Revisado: 06-07-24
A remarkable story. I do hope that it’s true, to have so many amazing things happen to one person is a bit crazy. But it definitely captivated me and had me googling her at the beginning wondering if this was legit! Enjoyed and the narrative was perfect.

Is she a witness, a suspect, or the next victim? As Josie digs deeper, a letter about a mix-up at a fertility clinic links the nameless girl and the missing child to a spate of killings across the county.

Narrator lowered the rating
Revisado: 05-11-24
Good story. Enjoyed the unpredictably but the narrators pronunciation of words was so annoyed I had to push through the first couple chapters and get used to it. The word been she says bean. A few words I had to think what she was trying to say. Just annoying because other than that she’s a good reader.

Revisado: 02-25-24
I’m from Texas and the hick accent was annoying. The story just drug on. If it wasn’t on Audible I woulda quit it. Ch 6 was the worst. Just listened to small town gossip. Ugh I read to get away from that crap. Narrator did a good job but wasn’t my fave.

Grace Holloway keeps to herself. Since narrowly escaping death at the hands of the man who kidnapped her, she’s thrown herself into the small inn she runs in Rock Harbor, Maine. It’s quiet, quaint and, in the off-season, completely isolated—the perfect place for Grace to keep her own secrets. But Grace isn’t the only one with something to hide, and Rock Harbor isn’t just a sleepy vacation town. Someone is taking young women—girls who look an awful lot like Grace did when she was kidnapped so many years ago.

The perfect neighborhood can be the perfect place to hide… Who wouldn’t want to live in Brighton Hills? This exclusive community on the Oregon coast is the perfect mix of luxury and natural beauty. Stunning houses nestle beneath mighty Douglas firs, and lush backyards roll down to the lakefront. It’s the kind of place where neighbors look out for one another. Sometimes a little too closely…
