Historia
In 1900, Isaac Monroe Cline was in charge of the Galveston station of the US Weather Bureau. He was a knowledgeable, seasoned weatherman who considered himself a scientist. When he heard the deep thudding of waves on Galveston's beach in the early morning of September 8, however, Cline refused to be alarmed. The city had been hit by bad weather before.

Weather history lesson
Revisado: 01-13-16
I could not finish this book. If you are interested in a lesson on the evolution of weather and mans ability to predict it, you'll love this book. If you're looking for a story there's not much of one here. Perhaps if I would have given it more time it would have gotten more interesting but 2 hours in he was still talking about how the barametric pressure affects the temperature etc and I couldn't take any more.

Historia
Once presided over by a flamboyant Hollywood mogul during the Roaring ’20s, the magnificent West Coast property known as Roseland is now home to a reclusive billionaire financier and his faithful servants. And, for the moment, it’s also a port in the storm for Odd Thomas and his traveling companion, the inscrutably charming Annamaria. In the wake of Odd’s most recent clash with lethal adversaries, the opulent manor’s comforts should be welcome. But there’s far more to Roseland than meets even the extraordinary eye of Odd, who soon suspects it may be more hell than haven.

So disappointed :(
Revisado: 10-01-14
Odd Thomas is one of my all time favorite books and I find myself hopeful each time a new Odd book comes out. I found each book a little less enjoyable than the one before it and this one was no exception.

Ya ya I know, lady porn. BUT!
Revisado: 10-01-14
If you've lived on this planet at all you already know what everyone is saying about 50 Shades. Yes it's very erotic but the story all this erotica tells is really what makes the book and the series great. You can only read or listen to so much porn before it gets boring. I was never anywhere close to bored while listening to this trilogy. Were there time I found myself saying "oh come on, really"? Yes but I found the story good enough to forgive those moments.

Historia
In the first of three essays included in this audiobook, Bill Bryson decides to move his wife and kids back to his homeland, the United States, after nearly two decades in Britain. But not before taking one last trip around Britain, a sort of valedictory tour of the green and kindly island that had so long been his home. The result is a hilarious social commentary.

Historia
Two men, each handsome and unusually adept at his chosen work, embodied an element of the great dynamic that characterized America’s rush toward the twentieth century. The architect was Daniel Hudson Burnham, the fair’s brilliant director of works and the builder of many of the country’s most important structures, including the Flatiron Building in New York and Union Station in Washington, D.C. The murderer was Henry H. Holmes, a young doctor who, in a malign parody of the White City, built his “World’s Fair Hotel” just west of the fairgrounds.

I was suprised by how much I enjoyed this book. I bought it to humor a friend who kept pestering me to read it. Larson manages to make this very educational without boring me at all.

The record-breaking, chart-topping comedy phenomenon returns for a fifth season - all four episodes are here as a single download. Ricky Gervais, of course, is the award-winning co-creator and star of The Office (upon which the current NBC hit series is based) and HBO's Extras. Steve Merchant, who also stars in Extras, is his long-time creative partner. Karl is a pile of protoplasm that mimics the functions of a human being.

On Easter Sunday in 1937, the discovery of a grisly triple homicide at Beekman Place would rock the neighborhood yet again - and enthrall the nation. Horrible!
Revisado: 09-30-14
This book wasn’t for you, but who do you think might enjoy it more?
Maybe someone more interested in the details than the story.
Would you ever listen to anything by Harold Schechter again?
Maybe
What didn’t you like about Peter Berkrot’s performance?
Very dry with no emotion.
Any additional comments?
I couldn't get through it.
