The fact that this work induced fear was my first clue that something was deeply wrong. I am the divine spark. The divine doesn’t sow fear, doubt, sadness, confusion, anxiety, frustration, or anger. It sows peace, love, joy, and oneness. Sorry David. Complete miss.

Would you consider the audio edition of Shards of the Glass Slipper to be better than the print version?

I didn't read the print version and I'm only starting to listen to audio books, but I absolutely love them now. They require a different kind of mental effort, but are much more relaxing than reading a book. Somehow, they take you to a different time and place and you can lose yourself in the narrator's voice and sound effects.

What other book might you compare Shards of the Glass Slipper to and why?

I would compare it to a darker twist on the original Cinderella, but with modern and unique twists. At the beginning of the story, our protagonist is a crippled woman in severe pain, using a wheelchair to get around. It's a completely different spin on a classic fairytale which makes it entirely unique.

Which scene was your favorite?

I loved the scene in front of the tree by the castle. This story lulls you into a false sense of security when the characters set out on their mission to the castle, but that's about to come to an end as you're jolted out of your comfort zone. I love how the characters are just plunking along, and then we quickly know an epic fight scene is coming. It was so well narrated I could envision the scene playing out in my head.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

At the very beginning, when it takes all her strength and much pain to rescue the prince washed up on shore. She literally risks her own life and endures tremendous pain to do what she did, so it was a considerable act of bravery and a wonderful lesson for children. Right at the beginning we learn bravery and compassion.

Any additional comments?

My first review of this story disappeared so I hope it doesn't happen again. As more time goes on, it's harder and harder to remember the details. But I remember thinking that as a mother, I would have LOVED to cuddle up with my son and listen to this story. Audio narration literally brings these novels to life. Back then, we read the old standbys until the little ones got sleepy. This is a whole new experience, and one I would highly recommend to anyone.

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

Survive, Live or Thrive is an awesome motivations book that hits home and hits home hard. I listened in bed before I fell asleep, and it touched on so many topics that affect every one of us on a daily basis. From self-esteem issues, not allowing others' opinions derail us from following our dreams, to self-love as being essential for happiness and success. Author, L. Lynn Gilliard goes into great detail when talking about relationships and the importance of what you should, and should not, accept from them in life.
In my opinion, this audio book is an essential for anyone who commutes to work, has waiting time, or even to get away from television or video games for a while. This is nourishment for the soul, and is healing, affirming, and lets you know it's ok to be you. I highly recommend to everyone.

What other book might you compare Survive, Live, or Thrive? to and why?

Sacred Journey to LadyHood. I believe both women hit home on a lot of important topics that affect women and deal directly with self esteem issues and personal success.

Have you listened to any of L. Lynn Gilliard’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

I have not, but I will.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

Yes, and I did.

Any additional comments?

This audiobook is one that I would listen to many times and I never re-read books or watch movies more than once. That's rare for me. This is timeless and the points in it should be driven home until we get it.
