Historia
Was Jesus the invention of a Roman emperor? The author of this ground-breaking book believes he was. Caesar's Messiah reveals the key to a new and revolutionary understanding of the origin of Christianity, explaining what is the New Testament, who is the real Jesus, and how Christ's second coming already occurred.

Strong Wake Up Call
Revisado: 09-23-17
Nobody found it odd that Jesus didn't have anything to say against slavery? I would think that would be one of the first clues that the religion is a fraud designed to pacify people...or perhaps the part about the dead coming up out of their graves and walking around town (Matthew 27:52). Funny that's there's no record of any such event ever taking place. In fact, there's no record of Jesus Christ ever existing, nor any of his apostles, but that hasn't stopped Christians from believing in the story. Which begs the question: now that Joseph Atwill has proven beyond any possible shadow of a doubt that Jesus Christ is just a character that the Romans invented, are Christians going to wake up? I really don't think that's likely, but for what it's worth, I hope Mr. Atwill's work does help the world wake up from this mind-numbing religion.
I guess the real joke is that Christians have been murdering and persecuting "pagans" and "heathens" for centuries...and all along their beloved Jesus Christ was no more real than Mickey Mouse or Scooby-Doo.

Bite Sized Functional Wisdom
Revisado: 09-10-17
There are a great many 'how to write' books out there, and as a full time writer myself, I have to admit that the title made such a bold claim (20k words in a day) that I was skeptical. However, after just the first few sections, I knew that Mr Green was coming at this from an entirely new direction. Using dictation and planning as the core, and then moving into various methods like sprint writing, mastering distractions, and mental rituals to get oneself into 'the flow' the author managed to make good on the claim. The narration is crisp and the segments are presented in short bursts, which made it very easy to listen to in pieces throughout my day. Already I am implementing parts of his process and seeing results in my own writing, which is where, for me, the proof reveals itself. I was provided this audiobook free of charge as a review copy, and have picked up the print edition for reference.

Bold, raw, forbidden, The 21 Laws of Surviving a Gentlemen's Club is a wake-up call for all patrons. You don't have to be a strip club aficionado to recognize that the behavior of the average patron is evolving before your eyes - rampant narcissism, lack of focus, and no agenda all spell danger.

Rabbits & Pirahnas
Revisado: 06-04-17
Very entertaining book and great advice for newbies. I guess you could call me a strip club aficionado but it's hard to convey my knowledge of the "jungle" (as Darius calls it) to my buddies. Most of the guys are clueless about how they should spend their money when they enter a strip club, and the other half of the guys are either burnt from bad experiences with "bunny rabbits" and "piranhas," or are just outsiders who are completely clueless and have a nose-in-the-air attitude about gentlemen's clubs. What I like about this book is that now I don't have to describe the value in strip clubs to outsiders, and I don't have to have a long conversation about the do's and don'ts of having a good time and making wise lapdance investments—from here on out I'm just going to tell guys to listen to this audiobook. I think Darius has really done a service to men the world over. Cheers!

Historia
Even in small towns, restless spirits and malevolent forces walk the streets. Oscar Mendoza knows this from personal experience. Mendoza can't remember a time when he couldn't see the spirits all around him. He does remember, however, when he first became unsettled by the experience. The year was 1980, and he was only four years old. He had been warned by his parents to never go down a certain alley in their town, but Mendoza decided to ignore their warning.

Liked the book, Loved the audiobook
Revisado: 03-03-17
What did you love best about The Book of the Dead: True Stories of Spirit Encounters?
I first encountered this book on my kindle device and enjoyed reading it so much that I put a review online, which I have copied below. Later I was gifted a copy of the audiobook, and it is now my preferred format for these stories. The book was great, but listening to the narrator's performance gave these stories an extra layer of grit and creep that will keep you on the edge of whatever you are sitting on. I am re-posting my original review below, with the additional comment that the audiobook is certainly my preferred version.
Review - This was a powerful read, and given that these are based on true events experienced by the author it is more than a little creepy, in fact, downright terrifying because this is happening to a young person. Presented in a rich first person narrative style, the author takes your hand and leads you along on his compelling journey. The descriptions are rich, and the flow of the tales feels more like real life and less like a carefully plotted piece of fiction, which lends to the sense of terror and urgency. It certainly gives the reader some thought about what it might have been like for themselves to be in that situation, to have people not believe you, to feel alone against the dark. Well done.
What was one of the most memorable moments of The Book of the Dead: True Stories of Spirit Encounters?
The Pig Man has got to be one of the craziest chapters, not just the story, but the narrators performance, truly creepy and rather visceral.
What does John Alan Martinson Jr. bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?
This audiobook has lots of little extras to it, little notes, sound FX, and atmospheric additions that combine with the narrators voice to make this feel more like an old school radio horror broadcast than just a plain old audiobook.
Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?
Pig Man. Oh my god.
